Organize team warm up ( set up field, divide group in two teams & play 3v3 “Street soccer” for 8’) Instruct and encourage players to have a drink Announce starting line up Talk very concisely –for about 1 minute-about “Theme of the week” Theme of the week Week 1 -5 Making mistake is a very important part of the player’s learning and development. Encourage risk taking and applaud effort. Week 2-6 How to run with the ball Week 3- 7 How to pass the ball Week 4-8 How to score the goal During the game 1. 2. 3. Greet opposing team (players and coach)before the start of the game Start the game and function as a referee from outside of the field Apply substitution procedure: Player entering the game should be reminded to use the “Theme of the day” and have fun playing Player coming off the field should not immediately be instructed by the coach, but he/she should be greeted by the coach and his/her positive body language & smile while giving player high five…. After player relaxes little bit, than he/she should come to the coach who should tell the player that he/she did really good performing “Theme of the day” or coach will ask player what he /she think about it? If player is sad and do not want to talk: coach should find positive element in player performance and explain why it was good, (because …you took the shot on goal)! 3. Do not sit but stand and observe players technical execution 4. Do not coach from the sideline but occasionally provide positive feedback to player regarding technical performance Half Time 1. 2.
