February, 2016 Supplement Home Plate Youth Dinner On Wednesday, February 10th, BFUMC will be serving dinner at Merlo Station High School for the Homeplate Youth Services. Since this is Ash Wednesday, it is the perfect time, at the beginning of the forty days of Lent, to volunteer for this critical Mission. For this meal we are serving baked potatoes with condiments, a green toss salad and dressing, cookies and a special valentine treat. As always milk, juice and water will be served. If you would like to join this great Mission there are sign up sheets in the Fireside Room on the Bulletin board. Help is needed with shopping (list will be provided and best places to shop for quantity amounts). You will be reimbursed for the amount of monies spent, or you may donate these items to church. *Either way private donations will be used to pay for this meal. There is a place to sign up to help with the prep work done in the BFUMC kitchen and then transported to Merlo Station High School. Volunteering to help set-up, serve and clean-up is the most rewarding aspect of this Mission, since you are face to face with the youth we are feeding. It is a special reward and since it so close to Valentine’s Day we are giving them a special “love” treats. *Since there are no available funds in the Missions account, private donations are greatly appreciated. Also, please note that this year there will be one Ash Wednesday Service at the church at 10:00 AM.
