John Douangdara Memorial War
Dog Park
Incorporated into a five-acre dog park, this memorial pays
tribute to the devoted four-legged companions whose
dedication to their masters was unparalleled in combat.
The park houses the Memorial in honor of fallen Navy
SEAL, John Douangdara, who along with 29 fellow service
members and his assault dog, Bart, were killed when their
helicopter crashed in Afghanistan in 2011. It is connected
to the Siouxland Trails system.
