From the QM about the quiz: “There'll be no specific topics. These are general quizzes. We would want to
cover anything under the sun!!! So there is nothing to prepare. Participants need not worry about formats,
scores, timing etc. Let them come and just enjoy the quiz.”
Event Format:



Quiz for school teams will be conducted in two categories, Juniors and Seniors.
Each team will consist of two members.
A preliminary round will be conducted to short list the 8 teams for the final round (quiz onstage).
Preliminary Round:
i. General
1. The preliminary round will be a written test conducted at 7:45 am on the day of the quiz
i.e. Friday, 22nd April 2016, at the venue to select the eight teams that will compete in the
final round of each category (Juniors and Seniors).
2. Each team shall consist of two members. Both the team members must be present during
the preliminary round and must jointly answer the written test.
3. Members of the team once registered at the venue cannot be changed.

Eligibility for the Preliminary round:
Juniors - Students in classes up to and including 8th Standard as on 22 April 2016
Seniors - Students in class 12 and below during the academic year 2015-16
A student shall participate only in one category.
Students eligible to be in “Juniors” category may participate in “Seniors” but not vice
versa.
5. Each school shall forward the details of the teams, duly authorized in the attached
Registration Form, to [email protected].
6. The participants shall bring their original civil IDs as proof of identity.
7. A maximum of three teams per school in each category shall be allowed to take part in the
preliminary round.

Selection of Finalists:
In each category (Juniors & Seniors), a total of eight teams shall be selected for the final
round. The criteria for selecting the teams for the final round will be as follows:
1. Marks scored in the preliminary round by the team.
2. One team per school will be selected.
3. A second team from a school will be given a chance only if the total participation is less
than eight schools. However, the maximum participation per school will be limited to two
teams per category.
4. In case of a tie between two teams of the same school or between two schools, in the
Preliminary round, *ed questions will be used to resolve the tie. If that also ties, a sudden
death tie-breaker on the spot will be used to choose the team(s).
Final Round (Quiz on-stage):
The Final Round will be a quiz on stage and will be conducted by the Quiz Master. The details of
format, scores etc. will be announced by the Quiz Master while conducting the Quiz. The decision
of the Quiz master will be final.
Winners:
 The winner in each category shall be the team securing maximum marks at the completion
of the rounds. The team with the next highest marks will be the runner up.
 In the event of a tie for any of the first three positions in any of the two categories, a tiebreaker will be applied by the Quiz Master to decide the winner.
 In the event of a tie, in a category, for any of the positions from 4 to 7, each team will get
the points of the position shared, as given in the table below for Overall Championship.
For example, if 3 teams in the Juniors category are tied for the fourth position, each team
will be awarded 12 points (direct points for fourth position). The next team will be
considered in the 7th Position.
Overall Championship – Ever-rolling trophy:
The ever-rolling trophy for the Overall Championship will be given to the school scoring maximum
points based on the criteria given in the table below:

Appellate Committee:
A three member appellate committee is formed to handle complaints, if any, related to the
conduct of the Quiz, except the decisions of the Quiz Master on awarding marks. The committee
shall comprise:

Requirements from participating schools:
1. Each school is requested to nominate a Team Manager who will be
present at the venue during the quiz. The Team Manager shall be
authorized to represent the school officially and shall be the contact
person for all further communications.
2. Each school is requested to nominate a maximum of three teams in
each category. The names of the participants are to be filled in the
attached Registration Form duly authorized and e-mailed to
