I.
Enhancing Access to AFE Knowledge Products and Services
 There were 15 e-library clients served by the FITS center.
 Three Knowledge Sharing and Learning (KSL) on IPAD and ICT Tools on Extension were
conducted to AEWs, FITS staff and Farmer partners
 Three briefings on IPAD Program were also conducted to EHRDP and YAFP Scholars,
AEWs and Farmers,
 321 pcs. leaflet of the IEC materials were distributed.
 Six web pages were uploaded.
 There were six e-courses administered, 35 individuals registered and enrolled in EExtension.
II.
Strengthening Competitiveness and Capacities of the AF Sector
 Training-Workshop for Facilitators of Farm Business School held at Veranda, Casisang,
Malaybalay City, Bukidnon started last February 24 and ended March 5. This was
participated by agricultural extension workers, DAR staff and some selected farmerpartners. The participants came up with Market Survey Report, Developed Vision &
Goals for their Farm Business, create a Farm Business Plan (Production Plan, Marketing
Plan and Financial Plan), made a Lay-out of their Farms and Action Plan. A Pre-Post
Test was also conducted as part of the training assessment.
 Training on Inland Fish Culture was conducted at Veranda Casisang, Malaybalay City last
March 3-5. It was participated mostly by 4-H club members, P4MP and some extension
workers. The training enhanced the knowledge and skills of the participants on Tilapia
and Hito Production. Hands-on activities like Fish Pond preparation were done at E & N
Farm, an ATI-assisted learning site in Linabo, Malaybalay City.
 Enhancement Training on Organic Chicken and Swine Production with Emphasis on
Natural Farming System was participated mostly by P4MP and some 4-H club members.
It was conducted at Binhi sa Panginabuhian Demo Farm and Training Center, Maribojoc,
Bohol last March 11-13. The participants did actual preparation of NFS concoctions,
formulated feeds for Chicken and Pigs, and prepared Farm Sketch Plan for enhanced
chicken and swine production.
 Training on Gender Based Effectiveness Skills Training was conducted to Extension
Workers at Deluxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City last March 17-19. The participants
learned a lot specially values formation. Also their knowledge in the different issues
about gender were enhanced.

 Resource Person Development Course was conducted last March 17-19 at Harbor
Lights Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City and participated by partners and cooperators of
established learning sites and owners of potential farm tourism sites. Participated also
are selected RBO leaders, extension workers and development facilitators who will be
implementing FBS and other commodity trainings. The participants came up with a
Module Delivery Plan and Farm/Project Briefer in Powerpoint.
 Two batches of Training On Peanut Production were conducted at Macboy Beach
Resort, Bacolod, Lanao del Norte last March 19-21. The first batch was participated by
war affected and displaced citizens and rebel returnees. The second batch was
participated by farmers and extension workers. It was done to enhance the knowledge
and skills of participants on Peanut Production. They came up with an Action Plan
indicating their implementation plan of peanut production project (e.g., when to start
planting peanuts; the kind of processed peanut products to sell and where to market
their products to gain profits). The participants were also provided with peanut seeds
as initial seed capital.
 Training-Workshop on Photo Blogging: Getting the Message Across was conducted to
FITS Managers and some FITS staff at Villa Paraiso, Mambajao, Camiguin last March 2426. The training enhanced the participant’s skills to apply techniques and concepts of
Photo Blogging. The participants were made to come up with attractive blog titles to
their Blog site and a short description of the site. As an output, all participants were
made to post at least 1 Photo Blog and a Social Media Advocacy Plan.
 Various trainings were conducted under the Organic Agriculture Program. Three
batches of Training On Backyard Organic Vegetable Gardening were conducted to
farmers in Barangay Mamanga Gamay, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental. The said training
was requested by the barangay because they aimed to be a pilot barangay for organic
vegetable production. Another Training is on Organic Agriculture Internal Control
System For Small Holders Group last March 16-20 at MOSCAT, Claveria, Misamis
Oriental. It was participated by farmers from Doalnara Restoration Society, Doalnara,
Aposkahoy, Claveria, Misamis Oriental. It was done to provide the participants with
knowledge on installation of Internal Control System and Skills on Internal Organic
Inspection. Another Training conducted is on Organic Herbs And Spices Production and
Utilization participated by extension workers in the province of Misamis Occidental last
March 24-26. The training enhanced the participant’s capabilities to produce
organically grown herbs and spices.
 Two Season-Long Training of Trainers started during the month of March. The first is
Vegetable Production cum Good Agricultural Practices with Horticulture NC II
Certification ( Phase I- March 10-20) and ICM Cum GAP Corn With NC III Certification
(Phase I- March 23-April 1). Both were held at Veranda Casisang, Malaybalay City,
Bukidnon and participated by extension workers and some farmers. The 10-day
intensive trainings focused on equipping the participants with more knowledge about
the practices and technologies in vegetable and corn, and planning for the
implementation of FFS as component of the training.
III.
Expanding Partnerships in Advancing Excellence in AFE Delivery
The Technical Working group for Project evaluation evaluated 16 farms who has submitted
proposals for funding to ATI. Surprise onsite evaluation was done by team mebers. The
results would be the basis for the release of assistance.
IV.
Scaling-Up AFE innovations
 Six rebel returnees from Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte were identified as beneficiaries
for after training support from the office.
 New partnership was established with NPA Rebel Returnees from Plaridel, Misamis
Occidental. Initial meeting was conducted with Mayor Diego Ty, Col. Gerry Besana, PA,
Municipal Agriculturist Beth Talam with some ATI staff headed by Dr. Angelito Quirog,
OIC-CD and Mr. Efren Macario, the focal person of the project.
V.
Strengthening AFE Stakeholders’ Capacity in Climate Change Adaptation & Readiness
Lectures and video showing on climate change were conducted to participants of the TOT
on Corn Production.
VI.
Improving Enabling Environment and Quality of Governance
 Dr. Angelito Y. Quirog, OIC-Center Director attended the Organic Agriculture NC II
assessment held at Davao City last March 6-9.
 Symposium on women in Rice Farming held at Pinnacle Hotel, Davao City last March 2527 was attended by Mr. Efren C. Macario, GAD Focal Person together with the three
women-farmers from Maramag, Bukidnon namely: Laila Fajardo, Merly C. Ruiz and
Sonia Sabejon.
 Moisa Niña D. Catiil attended two trainings: 1) Seminar-Workshop on Biotechnology at
Plaza del Norte, Laoag, Ilocos Norte last March 9-13, 2015. The workshop enhanced the
staff’s understanding about the updates of Biotechnology and the 2) Felda Technical
Seminar on Oil Palm Nursery and Production last March 25 at Farmers Training Center,
Central Mindanao University, Musuan, Bukidnon.
 ATI-RTC X participated in the nationwide “ Women’s Month” celebration.
 Cheriemy C. Daculan attended the Training of Trainers on Safety and Quality
Management (HACCP, GAP, GMP) on Corn and Corn by Products last March 9-13 at
Queen Margarette Hotel, Lucena City, Quezon Province.
 Philippine Association of Research Managers (PhilARM) final preparation meeting for
the 25th PhilARM Convention was attended by Ms. Maria Lydia A. Echavez, Training
Specialist III last March 20 at Harborlights Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
 End of Program Assessment of EHRDP Scholarship Program was conducted last March
26-27 at Harborlights Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. It was facilitated by the Ms. Maria
Lydia A. Echavez, EHRDP Coordinator. The activities included updating of status of ongoing and extended scholars, report on the utilization of their studies (Thesis /
Dissertation) and testimonies on the effect/contribution of the scholarship to their
professional and personal growth.
 Annual Assessment for Irrigated Rice Production Enhancement Project (IRPEP) was
conducted last March 12-13 at Middleton Apartelle, Cagayan de Oro City. It was done
to monitor the implementation of Action Plans and come-up with an agreement and
catch-up plan for the completion of unfinished/backlog activities of the Phase 1, 2 and 3
of IRPEP Component III.
