Beat = Defeat: a person. Ganar a alguien
Win: ganar un partido o a un equipo
Opponent: Your opponent is the person or team you are playing against.
Competitor: Someone who takes part in sports competitions.
Spectator: Someone who watches live something.
Viewer: Someone who watches something, especially television.
Umpire: The person who makes sure the game is played fairly in tennis,
baseball or cricket. Árbitro.
Referee: The person who rules on a football match. Árbitro de fútbol.
Draw: A contest or game ending with the same result. Empate.
Ring: An area where boxing takes place.
Punch: To hit with the fist. Dar un Puñetazo.
Gloves: a very thick, padded covering for the hand. Guantes.
Track: A course laid out for running or racing. Pista de atletismo.
Diving: to swim underwater usually while using special equipment. Bucear.
Flippers: Flat rubber shoes that have a very wide front and that are used for

Wetsuit: A piece of clothing that is made of rubber and that keeps the body

Snorkel: A special tube that makes it posible to breath while you are diving.
Court: An open area marked with appropriate lines, upon which a game is

Hoop: horizontal circular metal supporting a net in which players try to throw
the basketball. Aro.
Pitch: Area where certain sports are played. Campo.
Goal: the act of kicking a ball into the soccer goal. Portería o gol.
Net: a fabric made of strings which divides a court in half and over which a
ball must be hit. Red.
Racket: A device consisting of an oval frame with strings and a handle, used
to strike a ball in certain games. Raqueta.
