LCISD Alternative Learning Center Rules
This is a basic list of rules, a complete copy of rules, regulations and procedures will be given to the student,
parent or guardian at the required intake/registration
 A student cannot enter the Alternative Learning Center until all processes and procedures have been
carried out at the home campus and the home campus has notified the Alternative Learning Center
with the proper documents and forms for the student’s placement.
 A student cannot begin classes until the Intake/Registration process is complete. The student and
parent must be present for the Intake/Registration. Intake/Registration is Monday – Friday, 1:30pm 2:00pm, at the Alternative Learning Center. No Intake/Registrations will occur after 2:30pm.Parent
must call 832-223-0903 or 832-223-0900 to make an appointment for intake.
 If a student withdraws from the District before an order for placement in a DAEP is entered, the
campus administration may complete the proceedings and enter the DAEP Placement Order. The
student will be required to complete the placement before returning to their home campus.
 Students placed in the Alternative Learning Center must follow the LCISD Student Code of Conduct and
the Alternative Learning Center Rules and Regulations. Failure to do so may warrant further discipline
action.
 The Alternative Learning Center follows the District Dress Code Policy and requires all students to wear
the required uniform of The Alternative Learning Center.
 Students placed at the Alternative Learning Center may not attend classes if they are in violation of the
Alternative Learning Center and/or LCISD Dress Code Policy
 Transportation is provided for students placed at the Alternative Learning Center. A student will be
removed from District transportation if they violate the Student Code of Conduct on the bus and/or
Transportation Rules and Regulations for riding a bus. The removal will last the remaining days of
placement.
 All absences do not count towards the placement days. Excused or unexcused absences are all counted
the same in regards to the placement days.
 If, during the term of placement, a student engages in additional conduct for which placement in a
DAEP or expulsion is required or permitted, additional proceedings may be conducted and the
administration may enter an additional order. (Educational Code 37.009(j))
 A more detailed list of all the ALC rules and regulations will be given to the parent and student during
the intake process.
