CRITICAL TASKS CHECKLIST To be completed prior to first game. Item SCORING 1. First Grade – Purchase credit for the club’s pre-paid broadband modem at www.telstra.com.au. CNW recommends the “Annual Pass”, which costs $50, provides 5GB and doesn’t expire for 12 months. 2. First Grade – Ensure that the Total Cricket Scorer Live Scores licence is renewed on the Scorer’s Laptop by following the instructions contained within the CNW Bulletin. It is vital this is done to enable live scores to broadcast from the weekend’s matches. 3. First Grade – Turn on the Scorer’s Laptop and run any necessary Windows or software updates. You don’t want the laptop to automatically install updates and restart halfway through scoring the game! 4. First Grade – Appoint a Scorer and ensure they are familiar with using Total Cricket Scorer. 5. Second Grade – Provide the Team Captain with a scorebook and ensure they have pens to complete scoring duties with on the weekend. Please note 2nd Grade matches can also be scored electronically using Total Cricket Scorer or the MyCricket Scorer App. TEAM CAPTAINS 1. First Grade and Second Grade – Ensure the team captains have a Team Sheet Book. They need to write down their team and present a copy to the umpires and opposition captain at the toss. 2. First Grade and Second Grade – Ensure the team captains are provided with the required Kookaburra White 4-piece 156-gram match balls for the weekend’s games. Remember that 2nd Grade will play two games. TEAM SELECTIONS 1. First Grade and Second Grade – Send your team selections to The Advocate by 8.30 pm. You must use the online form available at http://www.theadvocate.com.au/community/forms/. Done CRITICAL TASKS CHECKLIST (continued) Item MYCRICKET 1. First Grade and Second Grade – Apply for any required player clearances. Go to the “Teams” tab, navigate to the “Players” menu and scroll down to “Permits and Clearances”, then click on “Apply for Player Clearance”. Type in the name of the player you are seeking a clearance for, then from the list that appears, find the club they last played with and click on “Clearance”. Fill in the required information and submit the clearance. Repeat these steps for any other players requiring a clearance. 2. First Grade and Second Grade – Reconfirm players who will continue to play with your club in 2016/17. Go to the “Administration” tab, navigate to the “People” menu and scroll down and click on “Reconfirm/Change Person Roles”. Display all the Senior Players requiring reconfirmation. Select the players you want to reconfirm, then tick the circle that says “Reconfirm selected records with the current Role/Sub-Role”, and finally, click on “Commit Changes”. This will ensure these players can be registered and selected in teams. 3. First Grade and Second Grade – Register players with CNW who have either completed an online registration or hard copy registration form. Click on the “Teams” tab, then navigate to the “Players” menu and scroll down to “Player Registration”, then click on “Register Players”. Ensure Cricket North West is set as the Parent Organisation. Highlight the “unregistered players” you wish to register, then click “Add” and “Update”. This will register the players with CNW. 4. First Grade and Second Grade – Select your teams. Go to the “Matches” menu and click on “Select Team”. Select the Season, Round and Grade (either CNW First Grade or Tasfreight Second Grade). Highlight the players you wish to select in the “Player List”, then click add. Select the players you wish to be Captain and Wicket-Keeper and click “Set”. Enter your Coach and Scorer and click “Update”. Please note for 2nd Grade you are selecting teams for two games. Select your team for Game 2 by selecting it in the “Other matches in this round” box at the top of the screen. 5. First Grade and Second Grade – Enter the match results, player scores and Captains Reports as required in the rules by 5.00 pm on the Monday following the game. Done CRITICAL TASKS CHECKLIST (continued) Item TEAMS PLAYING AT HOME 1. Prepare your electronic or manual scoreboard for the weekend’s matches. 2. Cover the pitch as required on Thursday night. Assist the curator with laying the hessian, covers and pegging everything down. 3. Curators are to mark the pitch and fielding restriction circle as per the instructions contained in the Appendix section of Senior Rules Handbook. 4. Ensure the boundary line has been marked, and is a minimum of 3 metres away from any solid object. 5. Locate the club’s plain match stumps, bails and spare bails. 6. Locate the club’s scorer’s light and ensure it is working prior to match day. 7. Ensure the toilets and change-rooms are neat and tidy and the showers have hot water. 8. Organise bar and canteen volunteers for the weekend and ensure you will have the required food and drink items in stock. 9. Make sure the applicable team captain or match manager downloads the JLT Sport Match Day Checklist App to their smartphone or tablet. The free app is available in the iTunes and Google Play stores – just search for “JLT Cricket Match Day”. 10. Ensure that the applicable team captain or match manager completes a prematch inspection on game day, and logs details in the JLT Sport Match Day Checklist App. The captain or match manager needs the opposition captain and match umpires to verify the inspection. The checklist should be emailed to the Club Secretary and local council if required. Done
