POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Teller Level I - III FLSA Status: Non–Exempt Reporting To: Varies by location Location: Various Original or Revised Date: 7/1/12 10/23/12 09/04/14 Basic Function: The ability to perform all routine and complex functions of a Bank Teller, provide support and backup to the Head Teller and branch management, work to develop the full knowledge and skills of a Teller, provide exceptional service to all types of external and internal customers, build strong customer relationships, and promote the bank in a positive manner. This includes an understanding of the systems utilized, ancillary bank equipment such as ATMs, scanners, recyclers, and the knowledge to research and resolve most customer inquiries and outages encountered, etc. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 1. The ability to effectively and efficiently process all types of customer transactions. 2. Successfully balance all cash activities with minimal outages. 3. Maintain a strong understanding of all Teller procedures, policies, guidelines, and currently and upcoming regulatory requirements. 4. Provide a high degree of professionalism and customer service. Maintain customer loyalty through courteous and friendly service, including addressing customers by name. 5. Strong research and problem resolution skills with the ability to research and respond to all types of customer inquiries, errors and outages that occur. 6. A strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm, effective and efficient while adapting fluctuating volumes, and workloads in sometimes stressful situations and clients. 7. Provide back-up and support to the Head Teller. This includes working in a Head Teller capacity during the absence of the Head Teller. 8. Work as a role model and mentor for other Tellers. Provide feedback to Head Teller on front-line performance, training needs and successes as observed. 9. Complies with all information requests from auditing, finance and the human resource departments in order to insure compliance with laws and company policy. 1 Scope of Responsibility: This position is responsible for performing all types of customer transactions, provide assistance and backup to the Head Teller, utilize strong and effective customer service skills, build customer loyalty through exceptional customer service and attention to detail, and performs other duties as assigned. Required and Preferred Qualifications 1. High School Diploma or GED required; post-High School education preferred. 2. Minimum 2 years successful Bank Teller experience or equivalent; 5 or more years of successful Bank Teller work experience preferred. 3. Proficient in basic computing skills with MS Office®. 4. Strong attention to detail, ability to work in varying situations, mathematical aptitude, proficient keyboard skills, and displays excellent work ethic. 5. Ability to work Saturdays and extended hours as necessary. 6. Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work with various types of customers both internal and external. Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to satisfactorily resolve various types of issues/problems for internal and external customers. Minimum Physical Requirements Activity requirements include the ability to: Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Perceive the normal range of sounds with no less than a 40-decibel loss at 500 Hz and 2,000 Hz with or without correction. Visually identify and distinguish between various documents and currency with normal range of sight having no less than 20/40 to 20/50 vision with or without corrections. Reach and retrieve objects outside of immediate range. Stand or support oneself and stay in an upright position. Raise substantial objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Pinch or pick and maneuver small objects by whatever means. The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions, but requires sedentary work such as exerting up to ten and rarely up to fifty pounds of force (example: coin bags) 5% of the time and a negligible amount of force approximately 90% of the time; may at time s need to move coin bags that can range from approximately twenty to fifty pounds.
