Instructions to use the PSAC Grade 5 Entry Program

The PSAC Entry program will soon be sent to you as attachment by mail.
Name of program : psac_grade5_entryprogram.xlsm
VERY IMPORTANT : Save the program to your PC.
Opening the project
Double click on the program psac_grade5_entryprogram.xlsm
Click on Enable content button if a message is displayed at the top of your screen. (On some pc the
user will need to press the Enable button two times.
The project contains two pages
1.Home Page (Fig 1)
2.Data (Fig 4)

1.Press the button Go to Entry form
2.The Entry form (fig2) will be displayed.

Select your school name from the
drop down list

Entering Data (Refer to Figure2)
1.You must first select your school name from the Drop down list.
2.Confirm that your school name is correct by pressing on the button : Click to CONFIRM School
3.Press on the New button to start entering data.
4.Save your record by pressing on the Save button or Cancel it by pressing on the Cancel button.

Searching for a record (Refer to Fig 3)
1.Go the Search Section found at the bottom right of your form

2. Select the candidate surname and the candidate other name , then press on button : Search
Candidate
If candidate record is not found in the list, press first on the button : Click here to refresh candidate list,
then do a search again.
The candidate record will be displayed in the form.

Amending/Changing candidate details
1.Search for the candidate (Refer fig 3 and section Searching for a record).
2.The details will be displayed in the form.
3.Make required amendments.
4.Press on Save button to save changes.
5.To discard the changes , press on the cancel button.
Deleting a candidate record
1.Search for the candidate record (Refer fig 3 and section Searching for a record).
2.Press on the delete and confirm the deletion by accepting the message.

PRINT PREVIEW/PRINT
To preview/print the list of records entered
1.Click on button Print preview/Print found on the Home page (refer fig1) (or go to the Data page
directly by clicking on the Data tab)  The report will be displayed (refer fig 4)
2.Do File/Print to print the report. (refer fig5)
The report will be displayed sorted by Surname.

CLOSING THE PROJECT
1.Click on the button Close found on the Home page (Refer fig1)
2.You will get a message requesting you to save the workbook, Select Yes.

SAVING THE FILE WHICH WILL BE SENT TO THE MES
1. Once all input is completed and checked, your file must be sent to the MES
Save the project by adding your school number in front
Eg For Cluny Govt school which has a school code of 5213 the file should be saved as
5213psac_grade5.xlsm
(The type must be Excel macro enabled workbook , as shown in diagram below) (Refer fig 6)

SENDING the file to the MES
Once you have saved the file with your new name , send it to the MES at address below:
[email protected]
Please note that the file sent to any other address will not be considered.
