capital expense. In addition, Oracle IaaS Private Cloud features Capacity on Demand 2
to accommodate peak workloads, such as holidays or period close, and includes Oracle
PlatinumPlus Services3 only available with IaaS Private Cloud.
Pay-as-you-go Monthly Pricing Model
Oracle IaaS Private Cloud is an easy way to invest in Oracle Engineered Systems without
investing a lot of money up front. For a monthly fee and a minimum commitment of 3 years,
hardware and hardware support costs are covered by Oracle’s IaaS Private Cloud. After 3
years, the IaaS Private Cloud contract can be extended quarterly at a reduced monthly rate.4
Figure 1 shows how IaaS Private Cloud creates a low and predictable cash flow, as compared
to a purchase of the equivalent Engineered System.

Low Cost and Capacity on Demand
A portion of the CPU compute capacity is reserved on IaaS Private Cloud systems for use
during peak processing periods. The price of IaaS Private Cloud systems is correspondingly
reduced and the reserved Capacity on Demand is payable only for the calendar months when
enabled. The total cost of an IaaS Private Cloud system with moderate use of Capacity on

Demand should be less than the comparable system purchased up front. Figure 2 compares the

Demand (3 months per year), the total
costs are equal after approximately 4.5
years. With IaaS Private Cloud and no
use of Capacity on Demand, the total
costs are equal after 5 years.
Note: IaaS Private Cloud does not
charge cost of capital which provides
additional savings from freed up capital.

Oracle PlatinumPlus Services, exclusively available with Oracle IaaS Private Cloud help
ensure systems remain configured and tuned correctly with quarterly automated assessments,
including guidance and tuning recommendations for system performance, system availability
and system security compliance.
In addition to receiving Oracle PlatinumPlus Services, Oracle IaaS Private Cloud customers
also receive the complete support essentials of Oracle Premier Support for Systems and
enhanced support for high availability with Oracle Platinum Services3. 24/ 7 fault monitoring,
accelerated response times and remote patch deployment services are all included in the
monthly pricing for Oracle IaaS Private Cloud.
On-Premise or Hosted Deployment
Oracle IaaS Private Cloud provides many of the benefits of a cloud deployment, but on your
premise, under your security and control, or at your hosting provider’s premise. At the end of
a 3-year term, you can extend your contract or replace your Engineered System with the latest
model and a new contract term. At any time, you can augment your configuration with
additional systems or storage expansion.
The lower cost, exclusive support, and the overall flexibility of Oracle IaaS Private Cloud
make it an attractive alternative for procuring Oracle Engineered Systems.
