Come and Join the Fun and Volunteer at Buxton
Summer Club - a play scheme for disabled children and
young people aged 5-17.
Created by Lee James McKenna
Their aims are
To promote social activity interactions, give
families and carers a break, help the children to
develop and be more independent and to make
friends and to have fun.
Management
The club is run by a Management Committee,
and employs play leaders, a nurse and
support staff.
We recruit about 50 young volunteers many of
whom come back again they:
Encourage the children to take part in activities and trips
Helping the children to make friends
Help with the running of the club
And most of all to HAVE FUN

When is it and what do we do
The club runs for the first 2 weeks of
the summer holidays in the mornings.
July 24th to August 4th.
We do lots of activities and visits e.g. Chatsworth,
Blaze Farm, Bowling, Puppets, Samba band Music,
Drama, Football and Sport.
If I want to volunteer what do I do
If you are interested talk to your teacher or you can come
to the Volunteer Bureau and fill in a form. The Volunteer
