(Note: If you change any of the values in the cells, you are required to insert the formula again to
recalculate. If you need to perform more advanced mathematical calculations in a table, we strongly
recommend Excel instead. An Excel spreadsheet can be inserted directly into word by means of the
Insert Table function on the INSERT tab).
Step 6 – Format the table
Format the table as you wish. Click the table and find the tools for this on the DESIGN tab of the
Table Tools ribbon.

Also, if you want, you can experiment by changing the Theme on the DESIGN tab.
Step 7 – Resize and move the table
Finally, you can change the page layout from Portrait to Landscape (Orientation tool on the PAGE
LAYOUT tab). Feel free to resize the table by dragging its corner, and feel free to move it by dragging
its crosshair. With the table selected, you can center it on the page with the Center button in the
Paragraph group on the HOME tab.
Step 8 - Quick Parts and Quick Tables
Quick Parts contain many useful preformatted texts and objects.
Choose a suitable header to your table from Quick Parts (Insert, Quick Parts in the Text group,
Building Blocks Organizer). For instance the Integral header.
Click the Insert button when you have selected a quick part. (Make sure there is an empty row above
the table in the document).
Now you can edit the inserted quick part as usual. For instance, Increase the Font Size if you like by
using the button in the Font-group.
Preformatted Tables from Quick Part
You will also find preformatted tables from the Quick Part. Below a few examples of tables retrieved
from Quick Parts. (Insert, Quick Parts in the Text group).
