GUIDELINES FOR TEAM MEMBERS
You have earned the honor of becoming a member of the Junior America’s Cup Team with the
privilege of representing (team name) ________________.
The unique JAC tradition began in 1973 at Pebble Beach, California and your behavior will be a
reflection on the JAC and the (association name)______________________, you yourself, your parents
and your golf Club. Be proud of your achievements!
Your Team Captain(s) are responsible for you and your welfare as you travel with our (team
name) Team and while you participate at the JAC tournament, you are asked to please behave
responsibly. Please embody the true spirit of “Optimism”!
While staying with your Host Family, remember that you are a guest in their home. Please be
considerate and respectful. You should be prepared to make your own bed, pick up after yourself and be
appreciative of the meals you receive, accommodation and transportation provided for you. They are on
our (team name) _____________ Team too!
JAC Team members may NOT drive Host Family vehicles.
Irresponsible behavior while a guest of a Host Family could result in withdrawal from the JAC
tournament and you will be sent home early at your parent’s expense.
GENERAL RULES OF PARTICIPATION IN THE JAC
All scheduled events are MANDATORY for Team Members and Captains. All Team Members
will wear the Team Uniforms for the appropriate occasions.
Proper golf attire is required for Registration and all Tournament activities, including the
Practice round(s). Competition shirts must have a collar and be tucked in.
The Team Captains must be notified and check the situation if a player(s) is reported to be in
violation of the Dress Code. A player in violation of the Dress Code prior to play will NOT be allowed to
tee off. A player in violation after teeing off will be asked to leave the course. Conduct violations see the
Team receive the penalty, not just the player. In either case, players can be disqualified from play for that
day.
The JAC Executive Committee will strictly enforce the “spirit” of the Rules, with contestants
not complying, subject to disqualification for each day of infraction.
Proper Golf Attire is required at all times at the tournament site. THANK YOU!
