The English Talent Programme
The first step on the talent pathway is the English Talent
Programme (ETP).
Identification for the ETP occurs at the national championships
For entry to the English Talent Programme athletes in all
applicable age groups (13 to 18 years) must achieve the
consideration criteria cascaded down from the performance
level.
The Athlete
The English Talent Programme of Pentathlon GB is evolving and
from 2017 there will be new guidelines by which athletes can
step onto this the first level of the PGB Talent Pathway. There
will be a new three tier structure of the ETP
BRONZE AWARD LEVEL
SILVER AWARD LEVEL
GOLD AWARD LEVEL
All athletes will enter the ETP at Bronze level, but may progress
to Silver and Gold by achieving the applicable criteria.

• Providing technical knowledge and support
• Coaches handbook
• A framework of planned training to provide national
consistency of delivery
• Parent and Athlete support guide
• Residential camps
• Opportunity to provide high quality group training for

The profiling is a tool to help coaches further support and help their
athletes
