Dear Parents/Caregivers
News From Gavin Oliver - Our Principal
Greetings parents, today I am laid up with a torn hamstring, which I
did yesterday by slipping on my concrete drive. It hurt!
Sabbatical
Last year I was awarded a Principal's Sabbatical, which allows me
to travel and study for a term this year. The BOT have
approved my sabbatical for next term. My study will be focused on
supporting children who have suffered trauma. During the 4th term
Trish Haworth will be Acting Principal, and I will be back very early
in 2017.
Hope to see you at our fabulous Year 6
performance of Maui Catches the Sun, next
Tuesday or Wednesday night. Tickets on sale at
the office $5.00 adults and $3.00 for children.

SPORTS RESULTS
Hockey
Pukete Squirrels
For our final game, the Pukete Squirrels played the Hamilton
West Pukekos and finished the season with a 5-0 win. Mea and
Emily both scored two goals each and Kelsey sealed the deal with
another goal. Both Peyton and Sophie came away with Squirrels
of the day for getting in there and attacking that ball. The Squirrels
have come so far this year, they have bonded as a team and
become great friends. They have put their heart and soul into
each game and win or lose, rain or shine, they have come off the
turf with a smile on their faces. The Squirrels have been a delight
to watch and us parents are really proud of every single one of
them! Last but not least, a huge thank you to Trisha Simonson,
who has coached the Squirrels, refereed every game and put in so
much hard work behind the scenes to make 2016 such a
successful year for the Squirrels. The parents really appreciate
everything you have done and this season would not have been
the same without you! Roll on 2017 season!
Pukete Seals
It was our last game of a fabulous season of hockey for the Pukete
Seals. We we up against our fierce competitors Ngahinapouri Green
sticks in one of our most competitive games this season. The whole
team played exceptionally well and we came away with a 2-0 win. It's
been a great season and we couldnt have done it without the support
from parents. Thank you to Kaitlyn for umpiring our games. Thanks to
Kylee for managing the team and to Martin for his great coaching. We
would also like to thank Toyworld The Base for the player of the day
awards. We are certainly looking forward to next year.
