Script for `Bible game show`

for Leaders
July to September 2016 Session 12
Script for ‘Bible game show’
Voice: Good evening… (insert town name). It’s here,
the moment you’ve all been waiting for… It’s time
for Fair’s Fair… and here’s your host Cliff Hanger…
Cliff: Well done Team Caiaphas, 5 points for not
believing Jesus, but 10 points for Team Pilate for a
lovely bit of cowardice there!
Huge applause from the audience.
Question 4: In a fair trial trustworthy witnesses
are called to give evidence. What witnesses did
you use?
Cliff: Hello and welcome to ‘Fair’s Fair’, the game
show that puts the bad back into badness and gives
Snow White’s wicked stepmother a run for her
money! Today we have two fantastic teams who
are determined to prove that they are the unfairest
of them all! On my left we have Team Caiaphas,
representing the Jewish leaders (big cheer from
audience) and on my right we have Team Pilate,
representing the Roman Government (big cheer
from audience). OK, let’s make a start. Teams are
you ready?
Teams respond.
Cliff: Now remember teams, we are looking for
the most unfair answer, so let’s give it a go with
question one.
Optional drum roll and dramatic pause.
The trial was supposed to be in the Temple leaders’
courtroom, so, for some lovely points, where did
you hold Jesus’ trial?
Teams give their answers.
Cliff: Good effort Team Pilate, but I think Team
Caiaphas pips you to the post with false witnesses
and gets 10 points.
Question 5: In a fair trial, the accused person is
innocent until proven guilty. Was this what you
believed about Jesus?
Teams give their answers.
Cliff: Ah, Team Pilate, let yourself down on the final
answer; but Team Caiaphas, what unfair behaviour?
Well done, another 10 points, which makes you the
winners of ‘Fair’s Fair’ – the game show that puts
the bad back into badness, and gives Snow White’s
stepmother a run for her money!
Huge applause from the audience.
Teams give their answers.
Cliff: Pilate, Jesus was brought to you, so you didn’t
get much choice, although a governor’s house is
pretty intimidating – 5 points.
But Team Caiaphas, holding a trial in the high
priest’s house when you were supposed to be in the
courtroom seems very unfair. Well done, you get 10
points!
Question 2: A fair trial is held during the day so that
everyone is not too tired and can see what is going
on, so Team Pilate, what time did you see Jesus?
Teams give their answers.
Cliff: Fantastic, an all-nighter! How exhausting
and unfair was that? 5 points to Team Pilate, but a
staggering 10 points to Team Caiaphas.
Question 3: In a fair trial the person being accused
is allowed to create a defence, what defence did
you allow Jesus?
Teams give their answers.
