MEADOWVALE HAWKS TEAM MEXXX Parent and Player Information & Obligations COACHING PHILOSOPHY As a coach I understand that I have a major role in the growth and development of your children, not only as athletes/hockey players but also as individuals. I know that sports is a formula that assists in developing life skills and how I present myself as a coach plays an important role. Each and every child will gain the opportunity to succeed. They will learn to respect their peers, to respect their coaches, officials, opponents, parents and especially themselves. Etc…. TEAM POLICIES This hockey team will be operated by a five member coaching staff. Head Coach (Xxx Xxxxxx), two assistant coaches (Xxx Xxxx & Xxx Xxxx), team trainer (Xxxx Xxxx) and a team manager (Xxxx Xxx ). No member of this team shall receive any monetary payment for services rendered to the team. Each player will be offered equality when participating in games, practices, events, etc. Team Meetings will be held at the beginning (insert date) and near end (insert date) of the season as well as on an ongoing as needed basis. TEAM FEES A team fee of approximately $XXX.00 – $XXX.00 will be requested from each player (this team fee is over and above registration fee). This team fee along with fundraisers and sponsorships will assist in completing our team budget. The Team fee will used for any tournaments, extra practice time, team events, etc. Estimated team budget for 2014/2015 season – please see attached. TEAM RULES All players must be fully prepared, properly dressed and ready to play 10 minutes prior to all scheduled games (NO EXCEPTIONS!). No one other than players and coaching staff to be in the change room 10 minutes prior to all scheduled games. No one other than players and coaching staff in the dressing room for 5 – 10 minutes immediately after all scheduled games. (Please inform the team manager prior to the scheduled game if you require your child to evacuate the dressing room immediately after the game). All players are expected to come to all practices. Many practices will be designed on team strategy and require all members in attendance to properly proceed with the tactics and drills. If for any reason the player is unable to attend, please inform a coach a.s.a.p. Players who indulge in stick swinging, smashing sticks off the boards in anger, foul language; disrespect to coaches etc. will be dealt with immediately. If your son has a problem with another player or coach, don’t let it fester – inform Coach XXX or our Team Manager. Parents/family & friends should be active in positively cheering on the team as a whole. Remember, the team starts on the ice but continues into the stands. You are part of the team. 24 hour rule in effect. If you are angry with your son, the coach, referee, the opposing team players and/or parents, etc….HOLD IT, THINK ABOUT IT, and 24 hours after the situation and when you have calm down - then contact Coach Ron or our team Manager to express your concerns. COMING TO THE RINK SHOULD BE AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE, LET’S SOLVE PROBLEMS SO WE CAN ENJOY OUR TIME TOGETHER.
