The purpose of this remit is to propose a change the way we review the Financial
Reporting by outside agencies.
Rational for Remit
The cost to Badminton Eastland is increasing every year we have to be flexible at
the type of audit we require to meet our Constitutional Obligations. Concern is
also expressed with the Internal Affairs Department now looking at changes to
Non-Profit Organisation like Sporting Groups that don’t come under the current
Charities Act 2005. Sports organisations and other non-profit bodies that have
tax exemptions for reasons other than charitable purposes are not covered by
the Charities Act 2005.

Recommendation
To approve the wording “Ensure proper accounts of all income and expenditure
are kept and to prepare the Income and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet
prior to the Annual General Meeting”.
Please Note:
This remit would also have the following implications:
More accountability is now to be put on the Badminton Eastland Committee at
the regular meetings. Currently every payment has approval of at least two
officeholders

Currently reads – “The Registered Office of the Association shall be at the
Badminton Centre, Childers Road Reserve, Roebuck Road, Gisborne. The Postal
address is P O Box 896, Gisborne. Due notice of every change of the registered
office shall be given to the Registrar”.
Rational for Remit
Need updating. Postal address is not needed here as officers change and we
would regularly have to change our constitution.

Currently we are using online services.
Rational for Remit
Outdated. We are currently using online services for banking, paying invoices
and all inland revenue payments. Many players are paying directly into the bank.
Hardly any cheques are written now. Banking of cash is done regularly.

To approve wording “All monies received shall be placed to the credit of the
Association in such accounts(s) as shall be determined by the Management
Committee and all payments need to be approved by TWO (2) of the
Management Committee as are nominated by the Management Committee.
