Win Two Tickets to Practical Farmers of Iowa’s Garlic Festival
Ames—Do you like great food and intriguing conversation? Join Practical Farmers of Iowa before
November 1st for a chance to win two tickets to their Fourth Annual Garlic Festival, Saturday,
November 7. All new memberships received between October 15 and November 1 will be entered into a
raffle. The winner will receive two tickets ($120 value) to our annual harvest celebration. The tickets
were donated by a Practical Farmers of Iowa member as a thank you to all of our new members. You

Practical Farmers of Iowa’s Fourth Annual Garlic Festival will kick off at Northern Prairie Chevre near
Woodward at 3:00 p.m., there you will learn about goat cheese crafting and goat husbandry. Next, tour
the grounds and winery of Snus Hills Winery near Madrid at 5:00 p.m., and purchase a bottle of wine for
dinner. A 6:30 Garlic tasting at Snus Hills will allow you to taste and rate heirloom garlic varieties. After
the tasting, sit down to a dinner prepared by chef Donna Prizgintas, featuring garlic and food grown by
local farmers. Register for the Garlic Festival on-line.
The dinner is a fundraiser event for Practical Farmers of Iowa and is in conjunction with Central Iowa’s
Buy Fresh, Buy Local Chapter.
