A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join
the NSPCC Celebrity Team.
The Celebrity Team manages relationships with our key Ambassadors and celebrity supporters,
including Wayne Rooney, Cheryl, Sir Michael Caine, Ant & Dec, Sir John Hurt and Alan Shearer. We
deliver celebrity support across the organisation for our flagship events, like our annual Childline, TV
themed ball, and our national campaigns – we’re particularly proud of our Paddington Trail and Little
Stars.
Reporting to the Senior Celebrity Officer, you will have experience of working with celebrities, ideally
in the charity sector, and developing opportunities for them to add value to the work of the charity.
You will have excellent communication skills and be highly organised with exceptional attention to
detail.

Context and background
The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. In order to carry out its charitable work, the
NSPCC relies on the fundraising support of people across the UK for 90% of its annual income.
Within Fundraising, our aim is to provide maximum resources for the NSPCC and children by working
together to create the best possible supporter experience by building long-term relationships to
create an experience which is different, better and more rewarding than that of supporting any
other charity.
In order to achieve these goals, the NSPCC will be relying heavily on the support of celebrities to add
value to our fundraising and importantly, organisational activities. The NSPCC has recently reviewed
the way in which it works with celebrities in order to more effectively leverage celebrity support for
the Organisation.
The Celebrity team sits within the NSPCC’s Partnerships department which is responsible for
providing value-added support to audience teams within fundraising. The celebrity team’s work also
covers supporting the wider Organisation, providing celebrity support to meet the needs of every
function and division.
Key aspects of the role are:
• To deliver specific aspects of the Celebrity strategy in order to maximise the value of celebrity
engagement to the Organisation in line with the Organisation Strategy.
• To identify opportunities proactively to engage celebrity prospects and existing celebrities and be
responsive to requests to support the Organisation’s activities.
• To develop and manage relationships with their assigned celebrities and agents.
Job Purpose
• To contribute to the delivery of celebrity support and creation of new opportunities to engage
celebrities that add value to the Organisation.
• To deliver the agreed Celebrity strategy, goals and standards.

To work effectively with other departments in fundraising and other functions/divisions
within the NSPCC to deliver support to the Organisation’s strategy and associated activities.

Main Responsibilities
1. To contribute to functional/divisional objectives through the delivery of celebrity support and
creation of new opportunities to engage celebrities that add value to the Organisation.
2. With the Senior Celebrity Officer devise, agree and deliver specific aspects of the Celebrity
Strategy to meet the needs of the Organisation
3. To work with the Senior Celebrity Officer to develop the prospect celebrity pipeline enabling the
Organisation to have an active and warm celebrity pool to work with.
4. To conduct regular research on potential new celebrity supporters and existing supporters to aid
development and stewardship, and be proactive in spotting and seizing opportunities to engage new
and existing celebrities that will add value to the Organisation and develop celebrity support
particularly with those ‘celebrities of the moment’.
5. To be responsible for the development of relationships and delivery of support from celebrities
and their agents.
6. To develop proposals and presentations as appropriate that outline the opportunity for the
celebrity and secure their support. This will include presenting the terms of reference and benefits of
working with the NSPCC as opposed to any other charity in a compelling way.
7. To work with the Senior Celebrity Officer to manage and prioritise the pipeline of requests for
celebrity support in order to meet the celebrity needs of the Organisation.
8.To develop and deliver engagement and stewardship strategies to develop and retain our existing
and new celebrity supporters so that they are exposed to all appropriate engagement opportunities,
divisions and other members of the Society.
9. To undertake specific projects and activities as necessary or as required to support the Celebrity
team, Fundraising Operations department and/or Fundraising and the Organisation as a whole.
Responsibilities for all Department staff
1. To be responsible for updating databases and supporter information systems on a regular basis in
line with Data Protection legislation and NSPCC policy and procedures to ensure all records are upto-date and accurate.
2. To actively participate in regular department and team meetings, contributing to strategy,
discussions and decisions which will be beneficial to the NSPCC’s development of fundraising
activities.
3. To maintain an awareness of own and others’ Health and Safety and comply with the NSPCC’s
Health and Safety policy and procedures.
4. To take personal responsibility for keeping up to date with NSPCC work to end cruelty to children,
including securing updates on service and theme developments and general NSPCC news.
5. To constantly review opportunities for your personal development.

Knowledge and experience
1. Proven experience of working with high profile celebrities
2. In-depth knowledge of the celebrity arena such as The Arts, Television, Sport, Music & Film
3. Proven experience of developing new and existing relationships with celebrities and their
agents/managers/publicists to add value to an Organisation and in line with the Strategy’s terms of
reference for each celebrity.
4. Experience of identifying suitable supporters for projects and then identifying how that support
can be used to maximise the benefit to the organisation whilst minimising the contribution from the
celebrity
5. Experience of delivering against specific areas of a strategy and associated annual business plan
and budget.
