(b)Beyond the line of white posts to the right of the 17th hole. (c)On or beyond the car park behind the 18th green. 2. W ater Hazard and Lateral Water Hazards (Rule 26) Yellow stakes identify water hazards and red stakes identify lateral water hazards. Where yellow or red lines exist, they define the margin. 3. Integral Parts of the Course (a)Retaining walls and piling located in the water hazards. (b)The practice green behind the 18th green is a wrong green (Rule 25-3 applies). 4. Immovable Obstructions (Rule 24-2) (a)Railway sleepers and poles on paths to prevent erosion. (b)All artificial surfaces of roads and paths. 6. F ixed Sprinkler Heads All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction, on or within two club-lengths of the putting green of the hole being played, intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty, as follows: If the ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club-lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids such intervention and (c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green. 7. S taked Tree If a staked tree interferes with a player’s stance or swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty and dropped in accordance with Rule 24-b(i) (Immovable Obstruction). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted. 5. G round Under Repair (Rule 25-1) (a)All areas indicated by G.U.R notices. (b)All areas bounded by white lines. Thunder & Lightening Procedure In the event of high winds, fog, lightening or other adverse weather conditions, players should not continue to play if they believe there may be a risk to their health or safety. Course closure will be signalled by 3 long blasts on a siren, repeated 30 seconds later. Players should stop play immediately and make their way to the Clubhouse or Halfway House as soon as possible. Resumption of play will be indicated by 2 short blasts on a siren, repeated 3 times. Players ignore these instructions entirely at their own risk. Specific rules may apply in the case of a competition, which will be posted on the Notice Board prior to play. Please Be Aware Players be warned: Greenkeepers regularly work on the courses during the day and there are public roads, rights of way and bridle paths crossing the courses. Before you play any type of shot, check that any other player, member of staff or members of the public are totally out of range. If there is any risk please wait.
