Pictogram Images: Must adhere to ISO 7010 for both Pictogram and Directional Arrows as described in the National
Building Code, Provincial Codes and Standards.
Visible Distance Viewing: Legal Viewing Distance of 50 Feet (15.23 Meters) per UL/ULC Requirements
Ambient Light Source – Must have the ability to offer.
 UL/ULC Approved Pictogram Sign Rated at 2 Fc (22Lux) operating time of 120 minutes.
Approved Rating: There must be a minimum Operating Time of 120 minutes for the signage during emergency or
blackout as to CAN/ULC-S-572 Standard requirements.Markings must be present on the Face of the Sign, as well as the
Light levels at the time of installation, the date of installation, and signed.
Frame/Look Design:
 Aluminum: minimum 80% recycled content.

Product Lead Time: Product must be available 4-6 weeks from receipt of a Purchase Order.
AHJ Approval: Mandatory
Mandatory Building Audit: Yes, at no additional charge. A full detailed report of each building must be documented
and available for review.
Installation Requirements: Before installation it must be determined that there is a minimum of 2 Fc (22 Lux)of ambient
light on the face(s) of the sign at all times during building occupancy.
Environmental: Non-Toxic, Recyclable, LEED Qualified – Also Acceptable for Outdoor Usage.
Durability: Explosion-proof for areas requiring explosion-proof exit signage
Installation Locations: Signage must be approved for Primary and Secondary locations based on desired egress escape
plan.
Sample: An exact sample of the signage must be inspected before approval. Any alteration to this sample after
approval will be subject to disqualification and subject to additional costs associated with the tender.
