Every family will get the opportunity to talk to a SEN Designated Officer What should I expect? A family centred approach, where the views and aspirations of the child, young person and their family are central to the planning process. What should I expect? Outcome focused – steps to achieving the aspirations of the child, young person and their family. Timescale • Week 1 – letter is sent from SEN Team • Week 3 – Transfer review meeting held in the educational setting • Week 5 – Transfer review is sent to SEN Team for consideration • Week 7 – SEN Team will respond to the transfer review and advise parents and educational setting of next steps. • Week 10 – Draft EHC Plan sent to parents for final amendments and signatures • Week 14 – Final EHC Plan is issued Activity • Read the short description from a parent about their child. • What are their hopes and aspirations for their child? • What outcome would be appropriate to work towards? • What provision would you put in place to meet that outcome?
