We will begin the summary of the 8th edition of Poznań Motor Show with words spoken by Stanislaw
Dojs from Volvo Car Poland – “When it comes to automotive fair, Poznan is undoubtedly the most
significant fair trade venue”.
From April 6th till 9th Poznan Motor Show:
- was visited by 135 023 automotive enthusiasts who,
- exploring 15 halls and an open space, visited
- 170 exhibitors` stands that presented
- 60 Polish cars as a premiere;
- 2 concept cars;
- there were also more than 750 accreditations issued.
Numbers don`t lie, Poznań Motor Show is a gigantic event that once more attracted crowds of
horsepower enthusiasts. Knowing how different we are, how distinct preferences and needs we have,
we tried to make the Poznań Motor Show a response to your needs. Knowing that we organize the
fair for you, we prepared an offer that was meant to satisfy each of you. Thematic zones and car,
motorcycle, caravan and truck showrooms are the result of your voting.
The 8th edition was full of anniversaries:
100 years of Mitsubishi, the 90th anniversary of Volvo, Ferrari`s 70 th anniversary, and
AMG`s 50th anniversary. A decision concerning celebrating four global concerns`
anniversaries at Poznan Motor Show Fair is a token of appreciation for this automotive
fair mark. The fair that was created by Poznan International Fair is now one of the
leading events of this kind in Europe.
On a record-breaking area of 2000m² the German concern presented 40 AMG brand cars. Why just
here? Poland is one of the most important markets for AMG in Europe and the 4 th in terms of sales.
We even overtake Italy. It`s hard to believe but last year Polish customers purchased 1100 AMG
Mercedes cars. Recently, there have been more Mercedes records in sales. Mercedes cars have been
purchased by 12.000 clients, vice-president of Mercedes Benz Polska, Mrs. Birgit Preusch said in
Poznan.
Mitsubishi celebrated its 100th anniversary in Poznan and claimed readiness to enter the new century.
A two-time Dakar Rally winner Hiroshi Masuoka attended the Motor Show especially for this
anniversary. The stars of the stand were Mitsubishi L200 Monster and Mitsubishi Adventure.
Also Volvo celebrated its 90th anniversary in Poznan. However, presenting a brand new model XC60
was more important for the Swedish company. And rightly so. It was one of the most awaited
premieres in Poznan. And it was not a disappointment – this car is impressive indeed .
Ferrari`s 70th anniversary featured a presentation of a Superfast 812 model – straight from the
Geneva showroom.
The largest exhibitor, Volkswagen Group, took up the whole hall 3A. During its presentation the
company assured that Poland was a strategic market for the Group. Apart from introducing a new
Crafter, the company presented vast range of novelties – a new flagship model VW Arteon, a new
Golf, Skoda Kodiaq, Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo and 911 GT3 Cup.
This year BMW decided to stir the public in Poznan. It presented, amongst others, a new model from
iPerformance line-up – BMW 530e and Mini Countryman plug-in hybrid.
For enthusiasts of two-wheeled vehicles and quads, the motor showroom assembled outstanding
manufacturers and their representatives who prepared fair exhibitions full of novelties. Crowds of
people were attracted by a huge amount of premieres, extraordinary motorcycle and quad stunt riding
shows combined with drifting; all performed by the best professional drivers. We dedicated the
Custom Festival Polish Championships to those who wanted to admire unique and unusual
motorcycles.
Poznan Motor Show Fair dedicated a camper van showroom to those to whom a camper van is ideal
for travelling and spending free time. This year this successful part of exhibition was an ideal place to
get to know a full offer dedicated to enthusiasts of travelling the world without worries who above all
value their independence.
The 4th edition of the Motor Show Awards
This year a motoring journalists plebiscite was settled for the fourth time. The
competition had quite a specific nature. A subjective point of view of each jury member is
the only criterion for being rewarded. Everything related to motorization is taken into
account. The only condition is that the product must be available at Poznan Motor Show
Fair.
The jury was composed of: Kuba Bielak – TVN Turbo, Szymon Dziawer – Motogen.pl, Rafał Jemielita –
Autostuff.pl, Adam Kornacki – TVN Turbo, Piotr Kozłowski – CampRest, Wojciech Kukuła – Flota,
Adam Majcherek – Auto Motor i Sport, Lech Potyński – Świat Motocykli, Stanisław Sewastianowicz –
Auto Świat, Szymon Sołtysik – Auto Świat GO!, Martin Śliwa – Moto.pl, Włodzimierz Zientarski –
motoring journalist.
Audi stand was awarded by Adam Kornacki. Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio obtained the award from
Kuba Bielak. Lech Potyński voted for Junak`s Mondial HPS (Hipster) motorcycle; Szymon Dziawer
gave his vote to BMW Motorrad Polska and its BMW Rescue Motorcycles. Rafał Jemielita distinguished
Hyuandai by G. Duda. Caretta 1500 was awarded by Włodzimierz Zientarski. Martin Śliwa awarded
Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo. Stanisław Sewastianowicz gave his vote to Tesla. Ferrari`s stand
was awarded by Szymon Sołtysik. Citroën C3 was awarded by Wojciech Kukuła. Adam Majcherek
awarded Peugeot 3008 and Piotr Kozłowski gave his vote to Le Voyageur 7.8LU. Grand Prix Motor
Show Awards – this year this jury collective award went to Mercedes Benz`s stand. It was awarded
for its imposing stand which took up nearly half of the hall number 3 and for a wide product range –
starting with classic models, through racing models to the exciting exhibition prepared to celebrate the
50th anniversary of Mercedes Benz AMG and also for a perfect example of collaboration between the
importer and the dealer.
The Poznan Motor Show makes dreams come true
Some people dream of a journey into the unknown by a single-track vehicle, others of family holidays
in a camper van, of their own electric bicycle, of a photo with Jerzy Dudek, of meeting TVN network
celebrities and still others dream of a car ride by Ford Mustang driven by a handsome driver. Thanks
to the numerous contests organized by Fair`s partners, the Poznan Motor Show visitors could made
their dreams come true and those who were lucky and courageous enough could drive their dream
vehicle.
Children`s zone at the Motor Show
We didn`t forget about the youngest visitors. In order to make the time spent at the Poznan Motor
Show family-friendly, there were a few automotive children`s zones on the fair grounds. “As the twig
is bent, so is the tree inclined” – that`s why we tried to instill a love of cars in our young guests, to
teach them about car exploitation and to foster awareness of rules of road use but most of all to
develop their imagination - everything accomplished with the empirical learning method.
