AZ
CA
The agent must be a licensed accident and health
or sickness producer, must have completed a onetime 8 hour training course, and must also
complete 4 hours of ongoing training every 24
months thereafter.
A&H licensees must complete an 8 hour LTC course
prior to soliciting individual consumers for the sale of
LTC insurance. Newly licensed agents must complete 8
hours of LTC training every year for the first 4 years
they are licensed. Beginning in the fifth year, licensees
must complete 8 hours of LTC training every 2-year
license term.
Exemptions:
Agent’s satisfaction of another state's longterm care training requirement that is
substantially similar to the training to AZ will
satisfy the nonresident producer's long-term
care training requirement.
1. If home state has CE requirements:
Existing licenses will be renewed and new licenses
can be issued if the home state's requirements are
met. In addition, the specific LTC requirements
must also be met if the licensee solicits individuals
for the sale of LTC insurance.
2. If home state does not have CE
requirements: Current licensees must
meet the CA requirements, or the license
will not be renewed. New licenses will be
issued if the applicant has a current
license in good standing in the home state.
Then the CA CE requirements must be
met or the license will not be renewed.

The agent must be licensed as a accident and
health producer, must complete a one-time 16
hour training course (8 hours LTC, 8 hours LTC
Partnerships), and must also complete 5 hours of
ongoing training every 24 months thereafter.
The agent must complete 8 hours of initial longterm care insurance training, and must complete 4
hours of additional training each 24-month period
thereafter.
The satisfaction of the training
requirements in any state will be deemed to have
satisfied the training requirements in Colorado.
Retaliatory Provision: If the nonresident's state
imposes additional obligations on Florida residents
transacting insurance in the nonresident's state,
then those same conditions will be required of the
nonresident transacting business in Florida.

also complete 4 hours of continuing education
credit during every 24-month period beginning on
January 1 of the year immediately following the
year of issuance of the agent's license.

An individual must be licensed for accident &
health. A producer, licensed as of 4/1/11, who has
not completed an initial 8 hour LTC training course,
must do so by 4/1/12. A producer, licensed after
4/1/11, must complete an initial 8 hour LTC training
course. A producer must also complete 4 hours of
training for every 24 month licensing cycle.
The agent must complete 8 hours of training and is
responsible for obtaining specific training on South
Dakota Medicaid. The agent must also complete
4 hours of training every 24 months.
Exemption: A nonresident is exempt from the
continuing education (CE) requirements of Ohio as
long as the agent is in compliance with the CE
requirements of his or her home state.
Retaliatory Provision: If the nonresident's home
state imposes additional restrictions or
qualifications on Ohio residents, then those
additional limitations and conditions will be
required of the nonresident transacting insurance
in Ohio.
The satisfaction of these training requirements by a
nonresident insurance producer in his home state
shall be deemed to satisfy the training
requirements in this Commonwealth.

Exemption: The 8 hour training requirement may
be satisfied by taking courses in agent’s home
state but a nonresident agent is responsible for
obtaining specific training on South Dakota
Medicaid.
If agent is selling LTC riders to a life insurance
only, SD specific Medicaid training is NOT
required but agent still needs to complete the 8
hours training requirement.
An individual must be licensed for A&H or life and
must complete an initial 8-hour training course, and
at least 4 hours of ongoing training every 24
months thereafter.
NOTE: If agent is selling LTC riders to a life
insurance only, SD specific Medicaid training is

in any state will be deemed to satisfy TN’s
requirements.

will be deemed to satisfy VT’s requirements, but
producers must still satisfy the VT specifc portion
of the initial 8 hour training course.

familiar with Washington’s Medicaid program.

deemed to have satisfied the training requirements
