The game kicked off with Carterton being put under pressure by some good passing and movements off the ball by Tower Hill but the Defensive Skills of Danielle Tofts, Emma Hawkins and especially Loz Warnes was enough to ensure that newly promoted Keeper Nicola Walecki had very little to worry about. With Kira Thomas and Charlie Noble passing the ball around in the midfield and finding some good space it was surely only a matter of time before the ball would be played upfront to Millie for her to test the Tower Hill Goal Keeper. First Half Score 0-0 The Second half started just like the first with Tower Hill passing the ball around well and moving into some good space but with the fresh legs of Rosie Kelly and Erin Winson in the middle, Tower Hill were caught on the break. A great tackle by Erin and quick passing saw the ball being put through for Millie to chase and without hesitation she found the back of the net with great strike 1-0. Carterton now all playing with big smiles on their faces and confidence at an all time high started to play their best football of the season and within minutes found themselves 2 up. Again some fantastic tackling at the back from Loz and Danielle found the ball bouncing about in the midfield only for Rosie to kick up field yet again for Millie to find herself in a one on one situation and with the coolest of heads she placed the ball neatly into the far corner to give 2012 – 13 Season results U 11 Girls Carterton a well deserved 2 goal lead. With minutes left on the clock Tower Hill pushed forward in vain to seek a goal and that’s exactly what happened, some neat passing on the edge of the box and a shot out of nowhere from a crowded area gave Nicola no chance and now Tower Hill where back in the game. The Referees whistle then blew and to the joy and excitement of all players and parents, Carterton FC had won their first game. WELL DONE GIRLS AN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC DISPLAY, I and ALL THE PARENTS ARE VERY VERY PROUD KEEP IT GOING. Final Score: Tower Hill 1 – Carterton Town FC 2. 15/12/12 10:00 Carterton Town U11 0 – 6 Wantage Girls U11 08/12/12 10:45 Tower Hill Vixens U11 4 – 1 Carterton Town U11 17/11/12 10:00 Carterton Town U11 1 – 1 Thame U11 A man of the match performance from Emma Hawkins was enough to see Carterton share the spoils against a well organised Thame team. A great start by Carterton saw Millie Hall who was playing upfront instead of her usual role of defence receive a defence splitting pass from Kira Thomas which gave her a great chance to put Carterton 1 up but she dragged her shot wide of the goal. Kira then had a chance to score only for a fine save from the inform Thame Keeper to push it round the post and earn a corner. Thame though were allowed to get into the game and if it was not for the newly trained and very confident Georgia Harris pulling off yet again some great saves then Thame could have been a few up at half time but with 5 minutes to go until half time, Thame managed to get a shot off into the far corner which left Georgia rooted to the spot and had no chance of saving. HT Carterton 0 - Thame 1 Second half saw a totally different team and as soon as the whistle went Emma Hawkins with the help of Hope Bee and Laura Macgregor started to run the show. Not forgetting the fantastic football from Nicola Walecki, Loz Warnes and Danielle Tofts in defence which kept Thame at bay and then the inevitable happened. A pass that messi would be proud of from Emma sent Millie on her way and to the joy of all the screaming parents she found the back of the net 11 GAME ON!!!!!!!. Minutes left to play and Emma was still tackling everything and anyone in a hope of getting the winner not even an amazing run and expertly placed pass from Hope to Emma was enough to grab a winner and Carterton pick up their first point which was a very fair result in the end. 10/11/12 10:00 Oxford City U11 9 – 1 (HT 5-0) Carterton Town U11 13/10/12 10:00 Carterton Town U11 0 – 7 Kidlington U11 Kidlington came straight out on the attack forcing carterton on the back foot from the off, after some hard fought defending by emm hawkins and nicola walecki for carterton it was not long before kidlington took the lead with 2 goals coming in quick succession and with kidlington going in half time 4-0 up. carterton had to start the second half with an uphill battle. After the break they had a couple of chances to get back into the game but could not hold kidlington back and the end result was another 3 goals for kidlington in the second half ending up a 7-0 defeat. Carterton Man of the Match performance this week could not be split between the midfield dynamos of Millie Hall and Danielle Tofts so together they along with an excellent team performane they can both be proud of a solid performance. WELL DONE 29/09/12 10:00 Crowmarsh U11 5 – 0 Carterton Town U11 Our first game of the season ended in a 4-0 defeat to a very well organised Crowmarsh team. An excellent performance from Georgia Harris in goals kept the score down as we played well and in search of goals were undone by some quick passing and good finishing. A first half of Mille Hall, Danielle Tofts & Nicola Walecki who were solid at the back and were well supported by a midfield of Kira Thomas, Emma Hawkins & Hope Bee so us go in at half time at 1-0 down. A second half change bringing in the speed and skills of Ellie Walecki, Abe Tava, Nicole Edmunds & Charlie Noble couldn’t stop Crowmarsh in getting another 3 goals but had it not been for a Man of the Match performance by Georgia Harris then the score could have and should have been a lot more.
