Items for Georgia Proof of Residency
You MUST provide 2 separate proofs of residency from the Categories listed below, before you will be
approved as a Georgia Resident.
INDEPENDENT STUDENTS (as determined by FAFSA)
 A current Georgia Driver’s License that is at least Two (2) years old.
Check your License Issue Date.
*OR if your license has recently been re-issued: A Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles History
Report may be submitted
 Georgia 500 Tax Returns (Previous 2 Years)
 Apartment, House Lease, or Mortgage Contract that reflects a date of Two (2) years (or more).
*IF you have moved but remained in Georgia, and wish to use this form of proof,--then you will need to
bring in the documentation (for the past 2 years) reflecting the beginning and end dates for each
address along with One (1) document from the list below. *This will serve as a single proof.*
 Applications for Service (NOT BILLS) showing the reception of services, for at least Two (2)
years to current, from the following sources:
o Power Company
o Water Company
o Phone Company (Land-lineNOT CELL PHONE)
o Cable Service
o Georgia Vehicle Registration (Car Tag)
**NOTE: The student’s name must be listed as Applicant or CO-Applicant. **

A Georgia Voter’s Registration Card with issue date that is at least Two (2) years old.
