The Need Statement.
The challenge is to build a wearable
lighting sensor system, which uses
photodetectors and optical sensors
to monitor the intensity of light
absorbed and uses a wifi based
central station,to adjust the needed
light which can be imported or
downloaded over the 24 hour time
frame.
Design Requirements
Timed logging
Adjustable light spectrum/intensity
Wearable/ Comfortable
Wireless technology
Battery life
Stylish and sleek
Wavelength
380 nm and 760 nm
Visible Light
Melatonin Increase W/ Amber Filter
Design Alternatives
Ideas included glasses, head band, t-shirt. watch.
Consideration of slimness,
Addition of clip
Just not confined to space but can be used anywhere.
Narrowing down the design keeping in mind the simplicity.
Can the proposed solution be implemented
W=white
T=teal (blue green)
M=magenta
A=amber
R=red
B=blue
G=green
M=E-R
W=R+G+B
V=W-G
A=W-B
To find amount of blue light…
• B=?
• W=R+G+B
• W-B=R+G
• A=W-B
• A= kA*W
• kA= Amber filter constant
M=W-R
W=R+G+B
V=W-G
A=W-B
