Introduction
The Team Member Philanthropy group’s vision is to make it easy for every team
member to be able to make a meaningful, positive effect in their communities. We
do this through a broad set of programs from the Community Support Campaign to
the Volunteer Leave Program, from Reading First to the Educational Matching Gifts
program. Every year we’re amazed at how big an impact our team members have
around the world. As you read through this 2015 report, you’ll see enormous numbers
and growth, including these highlights:
• The Community Support Campaign recorded over $98 million in team member
giving and was named United Way’s #1 workplace giving campaign for the
seventh year in a row;
• Team members outside the United States donated over $191,000, more than double 2014’s total;
• More than 76,000 team members worldwide recorded volunteer hours in My Volunteer Time, accounting for over 1.8 million hours volunteered; and
• Nearly 400 outstanding volunteers were recognized with volunteer grants totaling more than $600,000.
Even with those and the many other incredible accomplishments you’ll see in this
report, we in Team Member Philanthropy are constantly trying to improve and
modernize our programs to better support team members. In 2015 we changed our
Volunteer Leave Program to take applications year-round and approve leaves on a
quarterly basis instead of annually, which makes the program much more flexible
and timely. We also made major changes in the Community Support Campaign,
bringing on a new vendor to disburse the $40 million in team member donations
we collect annually and the $20 million in match funds we pay every year. We also
retired the campaign pledge site that had served us well for over a decade, launching
a new site with a mobile-friendly interface, better nonprofit search, and the ability to
track a donation’s status. We will continue to improve this site in 2016 and also hope
to pilot an exciting new feature in select areas.
Finally, 2016 will be the 15th anniversary of the WE Care Fund, which has helped
hundreds of team members through disaster and hardships. We’ll celebrate this
anniversary even as we push to improve the program and to bring the grant application
online. Because better is always possible, and our singular thought is to make it
easier for team members to help.

Our Vision:
We want to make it easy for all
team members to personally connect with their communities in a
meaningful way.
Using the tools and resources
provided by Team Member Philanthropy, we encourage you to share
your community involvement
experiences within Wells Fargo.
Sharing your stories may qualify you
and your favorite nonprofit organizations for special recognition.

Program overview
The annual Wells Fargo Community Support Campaign takes place during the
month of September and provides an easy, efficient and effective way for team mem
bers to plan and fulfill their annual financial giving to those causes and communities
they passionately support.
$98.8 million in total contributions
for the entire year*

by United Way Worldwide as having
the largest employee-giving campaign
in the United States for the seventh
consecutive year.
“Caring for and helping our communities
is one of the foundations of our culture
at Wells Fargo. Our team members truly
bring our Culture of CaringSM way to life
through their generous donation of time,
talent and financial contributions -- that
ultimately provide tremendous support
within our communities. I’m extremely
proud of our team members and that
they’ve made our Community Support
Campaign the #1 employee-giving cam
paign in the U.S. for the past seven years.”
— John Stumpf, Wells Fargo Chairman
and CEO

The theme of the 2015 Campaign was “Small is Huge. It all adds up to make a big dif
ference” for the second year. The intent of this theme was to remind team members
how their everyday actions make a huge impact – whether it helps one person, one
mission or one community. It also helps tell our story that our team members help at
the local level – by individual, by neighborhood, and by community. Our knowledge
of the communities we serve furthers our commitment to doing those small – yet
significant – things to make them better.
Our campaign philosophy
• We understand that the decision to give is a personal choice for team members,
and no one should be coerced or pressured to give to or participate in the campaign.
• We understand that our diverse team has many definitions of community — a
group, a neighborhood, a cause — that could be down the street or across the globe.
• We understand that team members should be encouraged to give financially to,
and volunteer for, causes they care about in ways that work best for them.
• We understand that each team member’s privacy must be respected.
• We understand that it is important to provide a campaign pledging experience
that is secure, convenient, and simple for our team members.
Through the Community Support Campaign, team members can contribute to any
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, school, and/or religious organization. Wells Fargo
pays all administrative and processing costs so that 100 percent of our team mem
bers’ donations go straight to the organizations of their choice. It is also important to
Wells Fargo that we make our team members feel comfortable and confident in
making a donation and will not share any of their personal information unless they
choose to be recognized for their gifts.
Wells Fargo automatically matches—dollar for dollar, from $25 up to $5,000 per team
member, per year—all donations made during the campaign to eligible accredited
educational institutions and foundations that are set up to raise funds for a specific
school or school district.

WE Care Fund
Program overview
The WE Care Fund is a great example that brings Wells Fargo’s Vision and Values to
life — to truly care for our communities and each other.
The WE Care Fund provides grants to team members who face a catastrophic disas
ter or a financial hardship that results from an event beyond their control. The intent
of the WE Care Fund is to help team members get back on their feet with basic ne
cessities, and it is intended for use by those who do not have other resources to help
themselves. Because the funds are provided to team members as a grant and not as a
loan, they do not pay back the financial assistance received.
Eligible team members can apply for a grant and may also make a donation to the
WE Care Fund to help fellow team members in need of assistance.

WE Care
“In February 2014, a winter storm ripped
through Roanoke. I was at work, my kids
were in daycare nearby and my husband
was two hours away. Our offices closed
early and the weather was crazy. I could
hardly see outside my windshield because
the snow was falling so fast and in large
amounts. I had a hard time just driving
the four blocks to pick up my kids. I knew
it was going to be impossible to get home
safely so I decided to put my kids and my
self up in the hotel across the street from
work. We ended up having to stay several
days and the expenses added up quickly.
My boss told me about the WE Care Fund
so I filled out my application, provided
receipts and was able to get financial as
sistance to help pay for the hotel and food
costs. Thank you to the WE Care Fund!”

Wells Fargo Volunteers
Program overview
Wells Fargo Volunteers provides consistent resources, programs, and recognition op
portunities to encourage team members to get involved in their communities and vol
unteer their time to the causes that are most important to them. Some of the resources
the program provides include:
Community Service Time
Wells Fargo supports team members who want to volunteer at nonprofits. Through
community service time, regular team members who have six months or more of ser
vice may be eligible to take up to two paid community service time days (16 hours) in
a calendar year. In 2015, 78,903 team members utilized more than 742,848 community
service time hours.
My Volunteer Time
The My Volunteer Time online tool connects team members to local market volunteer
opportunities and enables them to record all of their volunteer and board service activ
ities. The tool can be accessed at www.myvolunteertime.com and was used by 76,595
team members who recorded 1.86 million volunteer hours in 2015.

classrooms and donate books. Team members visited more than 6,400 classrooms in
2015 and donated over 64,000 books.
Volunteer Chapters
These community-involvement networks support team member-led volunteer ini
tiatives. Organized in local markets, Volunteer Chapters gives team members the
opportunity to create “volunteer communities” that make a positive impact in their
local communities and they align perfectly with Wells Fargo’s Vision & Values. In 2015,
19 new chapters were established, bringing the total number of active chapters to 130,
spanning 43 states and 10 countries. More than 48,000 team members participate in
these chapters.
Volunteer Leave Program
Established in 1976, annually the Volunteer Leave Program provides selected team
members with full pay and benefits—from three days up to three months—while they
volunteer on projects of significant impact at a nonprofit or school of their choice.
Starting in 2015, applications are accepted year-round and reviewed on a quarterly basis.
To be eligible, team members need to have completed five years of regular employment
with Wells Fargo by the application submission date. In 2015, 18 team members were

Lance’s passion for serving others
through his work at the Atlantic High
lands First Aid Squad was recognized
with the top Volunteer Service Award in
2015. He has a tremendous commitment
to serving others through his volunteerism and he exemplifies our Wells Fargo
Vision & Values every day.”
— Renee Samoil-Worrell, Wells Fargo Advisors
PCG Market Manager, and the senior
manager for Lance’s business line
“The Atlantic Highlands First Aid Squad
has a very small budget and no paid staff,
