Internal Standards Outline You will select to be assessed against 3 out of the 6 internal standards on offer. Each internal standard is worth 6 credits. Select and apply a range of processes to enhance sound in a performance context. For this assessment you are required to select and apply a range of processes for enhancing sound while recording and mixing down a recording. You must select and apply six processes to either: amplify; enhance tonal balance, control dynamic range, create ambience, filter; balance multiple sources; create effects; capture, edit. You must describe a sound theory related to each process from: frequency, phase, wavelength, amplitude, pitch, sound pressure level, fidelity, reflection, absorption, sampling rate. These may be described using written or oral methods. Research, develop and apply a stage lighting design concept for a given work For this assessment activity you will be required to research, develop and apply a stage lighting design concept for a given work. You will research, document and communicate a lighting design concept for a given work with input from creative collaborators. Your design concept must be documented using a lighting plan, lighting plot, running plot and cue sheet/synopsis and communicated to relevant personnel such as the creative collaborators. Research, develop and visually communicate a set design concept for a given work For this standard, you are required to research, develop and communicate a set design concept for a given work. You will work both independently, and in collaboration with other members of the production team, during this assessment to research and develop an overall set design concept, including a 3D model. Research, develop and visually communicate a costume design concept for a given work This assessment activity requires you to research, develop and communicate a costume design concept and costumes for four characters for a production. You will work independently, and in collaboration with other members of the production team during this assessment, to research and develop an overall concept for the costumes for a production. You will communicate your overall concept, with details of the costumes for four different characters. Research, develop, visually communicate and apply a make-up design concept for a given work This assessment activity requires you to research, develop and apply a make-up design concept for four characters for a production. You will work independently, and in collaboration with other members of the production team, during this assessment to research and develop an overall concept for the makeup for a production. You will communicate your overall concept, with details of the make-up designs for four different characters. Stage-manage a production For this standard you will be required to stage-manage rehearsal and performance processes for a production. More information about the external examination will be given to you later in Term 1.
