Dear All,
We have had a busy and exciting week. On
Wednesday the Fire Service visited Class 2 and
Class 4 to
teach the
children
about the role
of the fire
service and
fire safety.
There was an
opportunity
for some of
the children to
dress up and for
all of the children
to practise –
STOP, DROP
and ROLL! The
children
were asked to
remind you all to
check your
smoke alarms
weekly.
Playtime Snacks
We have had a number of children bringing
biscuits, crisps and sweets into school to eat at
playtime. Please can we remind you of the
school’s policy on playtime snacks and drinks :
‘We take pride in being a healthy school. We
encourage all our children to bring a bottle and
drink water regularly. Children in KS2 may bring
a healthy fruit snack for playtime. Fruit is
provided for all children in F, Y1 and Y2. Milk is
available free of charge for all children under 5.’
We would appreciate it if you would support us in
this matter.
Clubs
The following clubs are available this term and will
start week beginning 16th January. I would like to thank
the staff for giving up their time to do these clubs. If
your child would like to attend any of these clubs,
please let Mrs McCracken know.

School Roundup!
What have we been learning about??
Class 1
Class 1 made alien slime as part of their
literacy work on adjectives!
Class 3
Class 3 have been learning about
Stone Age cave paintings. These are
drawn by Archie and Tim.
Class 2
Class 2 have been experimenting with fractions
by making and then cutting up playdough. They
then made fraction walls to help them compare
fractions.
Class 4
Class 4 have been
practising STOP,
DROP and ROLL.
