Qualification codes and performance figures:
Wales and Northern Ireland 2016/17
ASDAN’s qualifications are fully approved by the regulators in Wales and Northern Ireland for use
in schools and colleges. Point scores above can be used in reporting, and provide a useful
comparison with other qualifications. Across all parts of the UK, ASDAN qualifications have a
recognised value in enhancing learning and achievement and contribute to meeting inspection
requirements.
The qualification codes and performance figures for ASDAN qualifications listed above can also
be found on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications at http://register.ofqual.gov.uk/
(following a search via ASDAN, and then clicking on each qualification, and then each reference
to performance figures) and QiW www.qiw.wales.
To assist with an interpretation of the performance points above, the following table illustrates
comparability of performance figures to GCSEs.

Qualifications at each level that are not graded, are given points scores in the middle of the range
for that level (e.g. Certificate of Personal Effectiveness at Level 2 = 46, and at Level 1 = 25).
Entry Level qualifications are worked out on a different scale.
UCAS Tariff Points
UCAS Tariff points are allocated using different criteria to SCAAT points, reflecting the value of
the qualification to higher learning, and therefore university entrance, and therefore there may be
anomalies apparent.
