KOREY KRUEGER
All Facets of the Game
Korey Krueger is available for private lessons through the Players Choice. Korey was the
Head Baseball Coach for Lawrence University for 10 years. A native of Appleton, he is a
1991 graduate of Appleton West High School. An outfielder and pitcher on the baseball
team, Krueger was an All-Fox Valley Association selection and helped the Terrors to the
1991 WIAA state title. He was also a standout for the Appleton Post 38 Legion baseball
team that won state championships in 1990 and ’91. Korey went on to play at Lawrence
University where he was an All-MWC selection in 1993-95 and captain.

RICK CAVAIANI
All Facets of the Game
Rick played at Appleton North High School from 1999-2002 under legendary coach Bruce
Erickson. Won FVA Championship all four years while earning First Team All State and
honorable mention All-Midwest honors by Baseball America Magazine his senior season
and was Region 8 Player of the Year. Set FVA Conference records for wins in a season
(9), Strikeouts in a season (91), strikeouts in a career (171) and Shutouts (5). Was a
member of the ‘02 AAA Legion State Champion Appleton Rebels earning MVP award after hitting (.591) and going 2-0 on the mound striking out 26. College career at Madison
College from ‘03-’04 setting records in innings pitched in a season (84), innings pitched in
a career (145.1) and finishing second all time in career strikeouts (137). Transferred to
UW-Milwaukee where he tied Milwaukee records for best winning percentage in a season
winning 7 games in a row and finished third in strikeout/walk ratio (3.47) in school history.
Finished senior season with an 8-2 record earning him second team All-Horizon League
honors. Rick also starred in the Northwood’s League in the summers of 2003, ’04 and ’05
with the Mankato Moon Dogs’ and Wisconsin Woodchucks.

ANDY ZWIRCHITZ
Pitching & Hitting
Andrew has 13 years professional experience. He was drafted by Cincinnati Reds and the
New York Mets. He was traded to the Atlanta Braves and signed as a free agent with the
Seattle Mariners. In 1994 he was the Wisconsin Gatorade player of the year. In 1995
NJCAA All-American. In 1996 he signed a full scholarship letter of intent with University of
Miami, FL and was Appalachian League Pitcher of the year.

CASEY KOPITZKE
Catching, Hitting, Outfield
1996 De Pere graduate where he played three sports. Casey played baseball at UW-Oshkosh from
1997-1999. He was part of three conference championships while going 102-19 as a team. He was
also named a Division III All American twice (‘98 - 3rd team, ‘99 - 1st team). He was drafted by the
Chicago Cubs in ‘99 during the 27th round as a Catcher and went on to play eight seasons with the
Cubs organization. Casey began his coaching career in 2007 as the Minor League Catching Coordinator for the Cubs, and held that role for two years. The past years he has been a Minor League
Manager in the Cubs organization (2009 - Boise, ID / 2010 & 2011 - Peoria, IL) helping young players on their way to reaching their goals of playing in the Major Leagues. Casey is currently the head
coach for the 17U Panthers.

BRYAN ROSCUM

Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 1987 June draft, Bryan Roskom played 3 years in the
minor leagues. Bryan primarily played in the Midwest League playing nearly every position
except centerfield! For the past 6 years, Bryan has been a mainstay in the Appleton Legends pitching rotation while playing a variety of other positions as well. During the last 5
years, Bryan assisted at Lawrence University working with hitters and pitchers.

GREG ABBOTT
Hitting, Outfield Conditioning,
Greg grew up in York, Pennsylvania where he was a multi-year all-conference baseball and football
player and 4-year starting outfielder on the varsity baseball team at Dallastown High School. With
multiple D-1 offers to play baseball or football, he decided to play outfield for the baseball team at
Kent State University. After lettering his freshmen season in 2004, he decided to transfer schools
following an injury to his throwing shoulder. He completed his undergraduate degree in exercise
science at Elon University where he was a two-time academic all-conference wide receiver on the
football team. While at Elon he also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the
football team and he was the hitting coach for the Turrentine Middle School baseball team. Greg is
now a sports chiropractor and has been coaching for the Panthers since 2011.

CHRIS CLOTHIER
Pitching
An Appleton native, Clouthier has been involved in Fox Cities baseball nearly is entirely life. After being all conference at Xavier in 2003, he went on to Lawrence where was a two time AllMidwest conference selection. He was the Lawrence University Pitching coach in ‘08, and Varsity
Assistant at Messmer High School in ’09. He is now teaching at Kimberly High School where he
joined the coaching staff in 2010.

MATT ERICKSON
Hitting

A native of Appleton, WI, Matt Erickson has spent a lifetime playing and coaching baseball. Matt
graduated from Appleton West High School where he played baseball, football, and basketball.
After high school he attended the University of Arkansas becoming a top player for the
Razorbacks.
He then was drafted by the Florida Marlins in 1997 and played several year of minor league ball
for that organization before getting a chance to play at the big league level for the Milwaukee
Brewers organization. A standout infielder at every level he played from high school to the
professional ranks, Matt is known as a swing guru and exceptional hitting instructor. Matt
currently manages the
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, a Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers in Appleton, WI
