Mr. Baseball 2010 A 2010 graduate of Mater Dei High School, Cory Hahn earned four varsity letters and served as team captain in 2010. During his high school career, Cory was named First Team All-League and First Team All-State, Trinity League MVP, 2010 Orange County Player of the Year, CIF Player of the Year, Max Preps State Player of the Year and California’s Mr. Baseball. Following high school, Cory was drafted by the San Diego Padres, but decided to attend Arizona State University. On the second day of his college baseball career, Cory’s life changed dramatically. In the first inning of the second game of the day against New Mexico, Hahn drew a first-inning walk with a runner on second base. On the next pitch, he broke for second on the back end of a double steal. Hahn dived toward the bag, but things went terribly wrong. Hahn’s head hit hard into New Mexico second baseman’s leg, the collision snapping back his neck. #CoryHahn
