Introduction
Congratulations on being offered a place in
the QMC football academy and we hope
you enjoy your football whilst at the
college.
Expectations/code of conduct
The following is a code of conduct that you have agreed to as part of your
acceptance into the football academy for the season.
1. Punctuality:
a. To all sessions (Monday/Tuesday sessions and after college).
b. To all matches (turn up on time for away games to leave on time).

Attitude:
Your attitude must be good regarding training, matches and squad selection.
Matches:
We are a squad; you will do your best to encourage those around you.
If you are not selected for the squad you are expected to support your teammates
and attend all training and matches.
iii. You will be given equal opportunity to play regardless of the team you are selected
for.
iv. Encourage your teammates during games, no negative attitudes towards others.
3. Full attendance at all sessions in order to play:
a. Training session attendance will be monitored; you will not be available for selection
(without a valid reason for absence).
4. Academic standards:
a. The academy is more than about football. In order to play on Wednesdays you will
need to be attending and keeping up with work in your classes to also play games on
a Wednesday afternoon.
5. You should enjoy your time playing in the academy:
a. You have earnt the right to play for the academy, so you should be able to enjoy it.
b. Any problems you have as an individual/team should be respected and you should be
able to openly approach any of the coaches with your issues.
6. Correct kit
a. You are expected to attend all training sessions and matches by bringing with you
the appropriate equipment such as water bottle and clean boots.
b. Failure to meet this will mean you might not be able to play on match days.
c. You are expected to purchase and wear academy football kit whilst playing matches.
It is optional if you want to purchase training kit.
7. More professional approach:
a. By meeting deadlines and meet times for home and away matches means you will be
able to arrive at games and expect an appropriate warm-up before matches and cool
downs after games.
8. Self-guided:
a. Your approach to the academy will be self-guided. It is your responsibility to prepare
for training and games as well as to be able to work with your teammates to make
sure you get the most from your time with the academy.
9. Coaches/team-mates and officials:
a. You are expected to respect the decisions of your coaches and not argue with them
at any stage.
b. You are expected to support your coach in any role such as possibly being asked to
run the line if needed.
c. You are expected to respect the decision of the referee and not argue with them or
show inappropriate behaviour towards them.
d. You are expected to encourage and support your team mates throughout your time
in the football academy.
10. Other issues:
a. You are expected to complete any written workbooks as part of your academy
programme.

Purpose: measures the agility of the athlete, especially body
control and change of direction.
