American Legion Baseball must be played under
The Official Rules of Major League Baseball as
published by TRIUMPH Books, 542 South

3, Playing of the National Anthem
Exceptions are:
1. Wyoming American Legion Baseball teams
will not schedule other state teams in direct
recruiting conflict with Wyoming American
Legion Baseball teams.
2. Wyoming Class “A” teams will play 7-inning
games Home and Away for all conference
games. All tournament games will be 9
innings and all District and State Tournament
games will have three Umpires including Semi
and Championship games. All games will 15run rule after 5 and 10-run rule after 7 innings
for all 9-inning games.
3. State Class “AA” Tournament, all games will
be 9 innings. All games will have a 10-run
rule after 7 innings.
4. Force-Play-Slide-Rule
Conduct On the Field
1. Any player, coach, team manager, or
party accompanying the team may be
immediately ejected from the game if:
A. Use profane language.
B. Make unnecessary gestures in protest of an
umpire’s decision. (Only the team captain
or coach may ask for clarification of a
rule, but never argue.)
C. Throw bats, helmets or other equipment.

D. Make unnecessary gestures to fans or
opposing players.
E. Use deliberate roughness on a playing
field that would result in injury to another
player.
F. Use tobacco on the playing field or dugout
at any time by coaches and players.
G. All batting or warm-up equipment must be
approved equipment.
H. ( enforced ) The code of ethics shall be
signed and adhered to at all times by all
participants.
I. ( enforced ) Any player who commits a
misdemeanor criminal offense will be
suspended indefinitely from the team
and faces possible dismissal from the
team. The only exclusion from this
policy noted is that of a traffic ticket
with proper court/legal supervision. The
commission of a felony offense by a
player will result in immediate expulsion
from the team. It should be noted that
theft of any kind will not be tolerated
and will result in immediate expulsion
from the team.
2. Any player, team manager, or coach ejected
by an umpire is to leave the ballpark.
Failure to do so will be grounds to forfeit the
game by the Tournament Director.
3. All players, coaches, and managers are
expected to demonstrate proper respect
during the Sportsmanship Code and the
playing of the National Anthem.
4. The designated hitter rule will be used in all
State Tournaments. Pitcher position only.
5. The blood rule will be enforced according to
the NCAA Rule.
6. TEAM CERTIFICATE OF ENTRY (National
Form#1): This form must be completed in
alphabet ally order and entered on line via
the National web site by June 30th...
7. The Force-Play- Slide-Rule will be enforced.
8. Any persons with a felony conviction may
NOT play or coach American Legion
Baseball.

9. ( enforced ) All American legion coaches will
have a mandatory back ground check done
before the first game of the season is played.
(Anyone in contact with the teams will have
a back ground check done) use your best
judgment on this rule.
10. ( enforced ) All American legion umpires
will have a mandatory back ground check
done before the first season game is played.
11. ( enforced ) All coaches MUST wear
helmets in the coach’s box. Updated - (All
players must remain in the dugout at all
times.)
12. Only B,Bcor bats are approved.
The Department through the Department Athletic
Officer shall be in complete charge of the
Tournament. He shall:

Certify the teams who may enter the
tournament.
Draw up the schedule of tournament
games. Or someone appointed to draw up
schedule of tournament games.
Approve all the umpires who shall work the
tournament and, in addition remove or
dismiss any umpire for violation of the
rules with the state Uic’s help.
( enforced ) Remove or disqualify any
member of a team, or any team for
violation of the rules or un-sportsmanship
conduct.
Render the final decision whenever any
question arises concerning the rules.

All protests or requests for interpretation of rules
as well as the reply or decision MUST be made in
writing. In no case will decisions be made by
telephone. At the Department Tournament and on
the playing field, all protests will be heard by the
Department Athletic Officer and the two Division
Athletic Officers, if present, and if not, by parties
appointed by the Department Athletic Officer.
The decision by majority will be rendered before
any play is continued. Any American Legion
baseball player may be disqualified for any
infraction of the rules or for misconduct, provided
however, that a complete report shall be made on
the prescribed form, and provided further that the
disqualification shall not become official until
approved by the Department Athletic Officer. The
American Legion Code of Sportsmanship shall be
recited by all teams at the beginning of each day
during the District and Department Tournament.

Wyoming American legion baseball
2017
Wyoming American legion baseball will be adopting
a zero no - tolerance policy for American legion
baseball for disrespecting the American flag during
the playing of the National Anthem. In recent events
regarding the flag and the National Anthem has been
attached by protestors in different types of
organizations.
Players, Coaches, General Managers and officials
will show proper respect for the American flag
during the playing of the National Anthem, or they
will not play American legion baseball in Wyoming.
This policy will be enforced locally during regular
season play, - but during conference, district play and
state tournaments will be enforced by the American
legion department baseball officials or tournament
directors.

For those who will not meet the American legions
expectations for proper respect of the American flag
will be removed from the program and will not be
allowed in any further participation.
The American legion is about 100% Americanism, in
teaching the youth about American values.
This policy will be in compliance with National
Executive Committee on resolution 16 that was
passed in 2016 fall meeting.
This rule was signed in and voted for by the
Wyoming American legion baseball board members.
