acSELerator TEAM® COLLECT ⋅ ANALYZE ⋅ CONFIRM KNOWING HOW THE POWER SYSTEM FUNCTIONS AND MANAGING ITS INFORMATION ARE CRITICAL TO ANY OPERATION. ACSELERATOR TEAM SOFTWARE AUTOMATES THE COLLECTION AND REPORTING OF POWER SYSTEM DATA FROM MULTIPLE DEVICES TO A CENTRAL LOCATION FOR EASY ACCESS. Team is one component of the acSELerator Software family, which helps you work more efficiently and manage processes by providing a common set of tools that improve commissioning and collaboration. Using Team, engineers and technicians can continuously monitor an entire system and quickly gather event or metering data. Team integrates into acSELerator QuickSet® Software so that you have all the tools you need for device management and monitoring in one convenient interface. With Team’s powerful automation tools, you can spend less time gathering and more time analyzing the information generated by your devices. When something happens, whether it’s a relay trip, system fault, or security notification, Team is ready to help with continuous background monitoring and reporting. This ensures the data are there when you need them to help discover root cause, maintain records for regulatory compliance, and keep your system running at peak efficiency. 2 Team is a licensed software tool that you install and configure within QuickSet to seamlessly integrate analysis and reporting into your design and commissioning workflow. *Refer to page 11 for licensing options. 3 Team is your power system news feed, automatically collecting and presenting the event information you need, where and when you need it. 4 QUICKSET + TEAM Team is a convenient plug-in that operates as a tool within QuickSet. If you are already familiar with QuickSet, you’ll feel at ease when configuring Team. The combined user interface means all the tools to meet your configuration needs are in one location. ac SELerator In QuickSet, you will primarily use the Device Manager tool to configure collection settings and view event information gathered by Team. Using the device connection information you define in Device Manager, Team can automatically collect and store the specific types of reports and events you require. After configuration, Team runs as a set of Microsoft ® Windows ® background services that continuously collect data from configured devices. All the collected data are stored in a convenient SQL database, called the ac SEL erator Database, so that the data are ready to view when you need them. INSTALLATION CATERED TO YOUR NEEDS Team installation is flexible to meet the specific requirements of your organization. Install Team on a single master station or separately at each substation to provide a complete event data collection solution. In addition, you can gain even more flexibility by taking advantage of SEL equipment already on your system. For example, the SEL-3530 Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC) speeds up event notification by alerting Team when a new event appears. Team can also collect security logs from the SEL-3620 Ethernet Security Gateway to assist in protecting your system. Integrating these devices with Team helps you optimize your system and create a custom monitoring and analysis solution. Team works with multiple devices in a variety of configurations to meet your system needs. Team automatically and efficiently collects and groups hundreds of event reports from multiple devices for quick event analysis and to support regulatory compliance efforts. Team can even email event details to subscribed users. EVENT REPORTS AND VIEWER Whenever an event occurs, an SEL relay generates and stores an event report. By setting up a job in Team, you can retrieve the event data from each device and store them in the central ac SELerator 6 Database for viewing and analysis. Event reports can then be grouped and associated with specific incidents, such as a windstorm, and the built-in filter options enable selection and fast analysis of event data. Predefined jobs for SEL devices make report collection easy, and multiple devices can be assigned jobs in a single step. Team can collect a variety of event report file types, including SEL CEV, COMTRADE, and GE Modbus®. Team can also export any event data in COMTRADE format for further analysis, as well as event summaries in spreadsheet, HTML, and other formats. Oscillographic event data are beneficial for monitoring the system, fault analysis, and troubleshooting purposes. With the Viewer tool, you can quickly review oscillographic data and identify important events by type, device, location, or timeline. EVENT TIMELINE VIEWER Quickly identify events using the Event Timeline Viewer. Hover over the flags to find the fault trigger time and fault currents. The Viewer integrates seamlessly with advanced event analysis tools, including offering direct access to ac SELerator Analytic Assistant® Software. of information during fault analysis and root-cause determination because they provide a time-stamped record of a device’s state changes. Quick visualization is increasingly important as more and more data become available. Team’s built-in Event Timeline tool provides a live view of incoming event files while enabling you to browse through the data. For greater organization and simplicity, the events in the timeline viewer are also color-coordinated based on the type of event. This additional perspective can reveal trends that aren’t otherwise obvious. Team can collect SOE data from an SEL RTAC or any Teamconfigurable relay or meter. Once the SOE data are collected and stored in the ac SELerator Database, Team offers powerful viewing and filtering tools for turning these data into useful information. SEQUENCE OF EVENTS (SOE) DATA AND VIEWER In addition to oscillographic event reports, SOE data—i.e., Sequential Events Recorder (SER) data—are a key source The SOE Viewer is capable of accessing events from several different relays at the same time. SOE data at the device level can be useful, but the ability to view the data from every device in the system at once is beneficial for detailed analysis. In addition, SOE recording enables you to measure performance by comparing time stamps between multiple devices, which can show overall system operation. 7 IMPORT LOAD PROFILE DATA FROM SEL METERS When serving a large metered area, such as a dense industrial zone, load profile data containing energy, demand, voltage, current, harmonic, and frequency trends can offer useful quality and billing information. Team Profile provides automatic collection and viewing of these data, which you can use to create and define any number of reports with Team’s reporting tools. 8 TEAM MICROSOFT EXCEL® TEMPLATES The Team-customized Microsoft Excel spreadsheet templates offer a familiar worksheet to access metering data and perform data analysis. Each template has a configuration sheet with the necessary parameters to select the data you want to retrieve from the acSELerator Database for your reporting purposes. Team LDP Excel Template Use the load profile (LDP) template to either import data from a single metering point into a new sheet or aggregate data from multiple metering points. VSSI Team VSSI Excel Template Voltage sag, swell, and interruption (VSSI) data provide useful information for analysis. With summary and detailed VSSI data collection options, Team retrieves, translates, and stores the VSSI report in the ac SELerator Database. The detailed report includes a record of each VSSI value, which can be used for postdisturbance graphing of data. Use the VSSI template to import either summary or detailed VSSI data from one metering point into a new sheet. REDUCE COSTS Automatic data collection vastly improves efficiency by eliminating the time spent in the field manually collecting data from devices. To streamline the data collection process, Team automatically connects to any configured device, identifies new reports, downloads and stores the information, and much more. Without Team, these tasks would have to be performed one step at a time by an on-site technician—potentially increasing the time that machines are down or customers are without power. Automating this process in Team not only saves time and money, but leaves more time to analyze events so you can get to root cause sooner. TRANSMISSION FAULT LOCATION Accurate transmission line fault location with minimal delay means utilities and cooperatives spend less time locating the fault and restoring service. Most of these companies today rely on the fault location information they receive from digital protective relays or other intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) that use local or single-ended measurements. To increase accuracy, Team Transmission Fault Location (TFL) uses a two-terminal fault location method based on event information that relays collect at the transmission line’s end terminals. When a fault occurs, Team TFL receives timestamped event reports from IEDs or digital fault recorders (DFRs) at either terminal of a transmission line, checks to see if the events are associated with any of the configured transmission lines, time-aligns the event records, and executes the two-terminal fault location algorithm. It then displays the computed fault location and, if configured, sends the results via email to subscribed users. Just like with event reports, Team helps you spend less time gathering these data by automating the collection and organization process. Team works with SEL security and automation solutions, including the SEL RTAC, SEL-3025 Serial Shield™, and SEL-3620 Ethernet Security Gateway, so that you have up-to-date information for your entire system in one place. For example, with security logs that Team collects from the SEL-3620, you can immediately see who is attempting to access devices on your system and when. NEVER LOSE EVENT DATA Some Team installations involve a single master station, while others include separate installations at multiple locations. However you have your system set up, data backup is important—and Team Sync is designed to meet every customer’s needs with stability and high performance. Team Sync is a Microsoft Windows service that runs in the background and pushes data to another station on demand or at set intervals. Backup your data by replicating the acSELerator Database into designated archive servers. Synchronize data by delivering up-to-date information between several Team services, regardless of the location. Team Sync is a safe, effective, and cost-saving option for automated data redundancy and transport. Users can select the synchronizing frequency and method to suit their network bandwidth. To ensure accuracy, Team Sync validates that all reports are successfully archived. 10 TEAM SYNC FAQ WHICH RELAYS ARE SUPPORTED BY TEAM? WHAT ARE THE ORDERING OPTIONS?
