CLEAR BAG POLICY
EFFECTIVE 2016 FOOTBALL SEASON
In order to continue to provide the safest environment possible and based on recent
international incidents, the University of Iowa has heightened security efforts and will allow
ONLY CLEAR BAGS (12” X 6” X 12”) into Kinnick Stadium effective with the 2016 football
season. Purses, handbags, backpacks and cinch bags will NOT be permitted.
Gates will open 90 minutes prior to kickoff for each home game. It is very important to arrive
early at the gates because enhanced inspection and security will slow entry into the stadium.
* The No. 1 goal is to provide a safe environment for all those in attendance at the game.
The following will be permitted:

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
One-gallon clear plastic bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
Small clutch bag, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.
No larger than 4.5” x 6.5”
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at
the gates
Fans will continue to be permitted to bring in:

Blankets
Seat cushions
Patrons with infants will be permitted to bring diaper bags
One sealed plastic water bottle
Food contained in a one-gallon clear plastic bag

Alcohol, coolers, kegs, camel backs, thermoses, canned or bottled beverages

Personal seat backs
Strollers
Tobacco of any kind
Umbrellas
Weapons of any kind
Bag check-in will be available in the Recreation Building,
beginning two (2) hours prior to the game, and continuing
until one (1) hour post-game.
