Women’s Waikato Knockout Cup for 2017 The Waikato Bay of Plenty Football Federation is pleased to announce the details for the Knockout competition involving Women’s Waikato and Premier sides. As well as the Cup competition there will be a Plate section for the first round losers Structure for 2017 14 teams CUP Round 1- Cup - 12 teams 6 games and 2 byes Round 2 – 1 winners from round 1 plus 2 teams = 8 teams Semi Final – 4 teams Final – 2 teams PLATE Round 1- Cup – – 8 teams – 6 losers from cup round one plus 2 random teams from cup round 2 Semi Final – 4 teams Final – 2 teams Dates Cup - Round 1 21st May, Round 2 25th June, Semi Final 13th August, Final 27th August Plate – Round one 9th July , Semi Final 13th August, Final 27th August Venues and Times In all matches, except the finals, the first team on the draw will be at home with an 11am kick off. The neutral finals venue will be advised as soon as possible. Important notes Teams that are knocked out or have byes can arrange to have League games bought forward Squads limited to 18 players. Players are Cup tied and cannot play for another team within the competition. Up to 3 players can be included in the team that played in a higher division during the league NO players that are registered to the NRFL Premier Women’s squad are eligible to play in the cup No players that are registered to the NRFL Premier Women’s Reserves squad and have taken the field in 50% or more of the fixtures for either the NRFL Premier Women’s or NRFL Premier Women’s reserves fixtures as at the date of the Cup fixture. Extra time of 15 minutes each way if drawn at fulltime Penalty shootout if drawn after extra time Teams withdrawing/defaulting/forfeiting from the Cup competition will not be eligible to be included or participate in the Plate section Team Cards must be received for Cup games by the 12pm on the Wednesday following the fixture or teams will not move through to the next round
