The tutors emphasized reading, spelling, and math to prepare the children for the new school year. • Expanding Ruby House to serve homeless female veterans has been a natural extension of our work to address emerging needs. This year, we have served twelve veterans and expect to serve up to twenty female veterans annually. • from the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services has made it possible to open up thirty-four new permanent housing units for single women and families. • now home for two formerly homeless families.
