Challenge
Buy a simple notebook and leave in on the
kitchen table. One time a week, maybe at a
family meal, have someone write down a
simple note of gratitude for a way God
showed his love to one member or the
whole family. Have the children remind you!
Persevere in tough times.

Exposure to nature walks in 7-10 year olds = better memory, creativity, attentiveness, and sleep
Increased computer access (grades 5-8) lowers reading and math scores

Challenge
Memorize the school verses, with your children
this year. Ask them to help you and hold you
accountable. Pick times to read, recite, and
apply it together. Practice while you are stuck in
traffic. Celebrate big time when all have it done!
Wouldn’t it be cool if by the end of the year
every parent and teacher and child in our school
knew Philippians 4 by memory? Its doable!

Turn off all screens: your phone, email and text,
including the TV and iPads to have all your family’s
focus for a certain amount of time each evening.
Maybe serve each other with a family devotion,
brainstorm whom to write longhand an
encouraging note, or make a plan.
