ahealthyme Activity Challenge Team Captain Guide Congratulations, you’re a Team Captain in the upcoming Activity Challenge! The Activity Challenge starts on January 23, 2017. Let’s commit to improving our wellbeing together. Here’s what to expect: Your Individual Goal: To successfully complete this 6 week challenge, and be eligible for your wellness points, you’ll need to log 900 moderate exercise minutes (an average of 150 exercise minutes per week). Moderate exercise activities can range from brisk walking to biking to dancing. Exercise must be entered on the ahealthyme website (www.ahealthyme.com/login) or on the HealthyNow app, to be counted toward the challenge goal. Your Team’s Goal Wellness points are earned individually. Team rankings are based on team exercise minute averages. At the end of the 6 week challenge, the team with the highest average number of exercise minutes wins! Your Responsibilities as a Team Captain: 1.) Create a team. Team Captain Enrollment begins at 8:00am on January 16, 2017! During this time, you need to log in on the ahealthyme site (www.ahealthyme.com/login) to create your team (6 to 12 people is recommended). This will be covered in more detail on page 3 of this guide. 2.) Prep your team for the start of the challenge. Before January 23, 2017, you and your teammates will need to: Sign up for the challenge on the ahealthyme site (www.ahealthyme.com/login) Learn how to log your activity on ahealthyme. To help you communicate these tasks to your team: send the sample “Welcome” email template with instructions (covered on page 5). IMPORTANT: Open enrollment for all participants begins on January 18 – 29. You’ll need to send the Welcome email to your teammates 2 days prior to open enrollment for all 1 participants! 3.) Motivate your teammates! Keep your teammates moving towards the 150 exercise minutes per week goal! Get creative: encourage team walks; organize a lunchtime stroll; and hold meetings on the move. 2 YOUR KEY DATES AND ACTIONS Enrollment begins for Team Captains: Visit www.ahealthyme.com/login and create your team. Monday, January 16 Send the Welcome email to your team. Enrollment is open for all participants Challenge begins! Challenge enrollment ends at 11:59 PM. Please note the sign-up period ends on a Sunday. Challenge ends at 11:59 PM. Participants must log all exercise minutes prior to the end of the challenge to count toward the total. Wednesday, January 18 Monday, January 23 Sunday, January 29 Monday, March 6 3 INSTRUCTIONS: Create Your Team on ahealthyme Team Captain Enrollment begins at 8:00am on January 16, 2017. During this time, you’ll need to join the challenge and create your team. Follow these steps: 1.) Log in to the ahealthyme secure site (www.ahealthyme.com/login). 2.) Click on “Sign up” in the Challenge Widget. 3.) Next, select “Create your own team” and add your preferred team name. 4 4.) Click “Sign up now.” This confirmation screen allows you to send an optional pre-drafted email invitation to the prospective team members—click on the provided link to send this. Your computer’s primary email system will create a new email. Just add the email addresses of your intended recipients and send. Tip: To see who has joined your team, click the “Details” button on the Challenge Widget (first names only). Use this button during the enrollment period to make sure all of your team members are signing up. Remember – you only have 2 weeks to sign up. Encourage everyone to join and get active! 5 “Welcome” Email Template Team Captains: Send to Team Members on January 13, 2017. Subject line: Join my Activity Challenge team! Hi, The Activity Challenge is almost here—join the <INSERT TEAM NAME> team! The challenge starts on January 23, 2017, don’t miss out. To participate, you’ll need to: Join the <TEAM NAME> team on January 19 - 29. Do this the ahealthyme site (www.ahealthyme.com/login). Learn how to log your exercise minutes. IMPORTANT: Complete these steps by January 29, 2017. Instructions are below. Step 1: Join My Team On January 19-29 , follow these steps to join our team: 1. Log into your ahealthyme account (www.ahealthyme.com/login). 2. Click on the “Sign up” button in the Challenge Widget on the ahealthyme dashboard. 3. Click “Select existing team” and choose <TEAM NAME> from the drop-down list. You’ll see <CAPTAIN’S FIRST NAME> listed here, plus with any other team members who may have signed up so far. 4. Click “Sign up now.” Congratulations, you’ve joined our team! Tip: Want to see who else has joined our team? Click “Details” in the Challenge Widget. *NOTE: The “Details” button displays first names only. Step 2: Learn how to log your exercise on ahealthyme! 6 Log into your ahealthyme account (www.ahealthyme.com/login) or use the HealthyNow app to log steps. To download: Visit www.ahealthyme.com/login. Click on “Activate the HealthyNow app” button on the homepage for instructions and to get your personal access code to start the download process. INSTRUCTIONS FOR LOGGING EXERCISE: ahealthyme Cardio Log 1. Click in the Challenge Widget. You’ll see this right on the ahealthyme dashboard upon log-in. 2. Use the Search Bar to find and select an exercise. 3. Enter your minutes of exercise. 4. Click “Save” to save the selected activity to the Cardio Log. HealthyNow App 1) Launch the app and click the “Exercise” icon. 2) Select the date that you are logging exercise for (“Today” is the pre-set option). Missed a day of logging? Select a past date using the “back” arrow button or calendar icon. 3) Select your exercise, enter your minutes and click “Add.” Track your challenge progress on the HealthyNow app: click “Challenges” to view the challenge progress bar. REMEMBER: You MUST complete these steps by January 29, 2017. The challenge begins on January 23, 2017! Let’s move our way to victory! 7
