The boys had a great game on Saturday
with new team members joining in well.
Unfortunately Caboolture got up in the
second half and won the game with a try in
last couple of minutes, very well matched
game. Fantastic to see the boys playing as a
team and we look forward to seeing where
this takes them during the season.
The score was 24-28. Well done boys!
OK Boy’s- I overlooked this report
for your 1st game of the season…am
VERY sorry & it won’t happen again.
D
What a great way to start the
season. A top game against an
aggressive Maroochydore side
but the boys were up to the
task. It was difficult to find
fault with the Beerwah game
with strong tackling from back
rowers Brodie Oosen, topping
the count with 17 tackles, Jonny
& Duckie. Everyone
contributed though & Lauchlan
Brown pulled off the tackle of
the day to bundle his opposite
winger into touch. Hayden &
Chris directed play well from
the halves & our two hookers
Shaun & Mitchell were
outstanding. Centres Martyn &
Zac were very solid in defence
& Zac was hard to stop with the
ball in hand.
The forward pack was too big
and too fast for the
Maroochydore side. Trent
made big metres every time he
touched the ball & Brodie
Bridge pulled off a great offload
close to the line to set up a try.
The stand out forwards were

Beerwah boys definitely turned up to play
last Friday nite at home against Kawana. It
was such a turn around from last weeks
match, our defence was 100%
improvement & the attack was the same,
by half time we were trailing 12-4 but with
a few pointers over the break the boys
were able to dig in and fight back to be
leading 20-18 with 20 secs to go, but
unfortunately Kawana slipped in from
behind the ruck to snatch the win 24-20;
Good football from both teams. Beerwah
forwards lead the charge from the front
with a special mention to both Chris &
Simmo for a job well done. Overall an
incredible improvement with a lot more to
come...Wayne & Ben

Beerwah Senior Rugby League
The Beerwah Bulldogs Rugby League Club has announced the release of their Living Skills Program. The Program is the initiative
of Senior Vice President, Stephen Pitt. Steve is employed by the Department of Justice, Attorney General as a Murri Court Case
Coordinator, where he works with magistrates and community Elders to identify alternative sentencing option to imprisonment.
Steve’s role sees him delivering programs which cover areas relating to drug and alcohol awareness, trust and self control to
both juvenile and adult offenders. The Beerwah Rugby League Club is committed to providing a professional culture where
young people who are involved with the club are offered support and information about issues that have a direct impact on our
youth in today’s society such as drug and alcohol misuse, peer group pressure and bullying. The Bulldogs Committee identifies
that players are involved with football for majority of the year and see the Living Skills Program as an opportunity to support the
welfare of our youth, both on and off the football field. Aspects of the program include Alcohol and Drug awareness, confidence
building exercises and self control workshops which will be delivered throughout the year.
The first Module of this program was held at Ewen Maddock Dam on Saturday March 20th and involved U/16 players and Senior
players attending a one day workshop.
The Club is very keen to find a willing Sponsor to help assist fund this program and anyone interest can contact the Club’s Junior
/Senior Liaison Officer Dean Roberts on 0418 816605 or email [email protected] for further information.
