How to Succeed in this class:
Be prepared—have your binder, pen,
paper, & supplies DAILY!
Participate & expect great things!
 Complete the journal prompt before the
tardy bell rings! Use your NB and label.
Due every Friday for 50 pts./week.
 Be respectful! Of yourself, of me, of your
classmates, of our room & supplies!
 Be creative and challenge yourself!

Supplies Needed for this class:
2” 3-ring binder
 4 dividers—labeled: notes, quizzes/tests,
DECA, projects
 Paper and pen, pencils, USB,etc
 Project supplies in a container: markers,
colored pencils, glue sticks, rubber
cement glue, construction paper,
scissors, ribbon, glitter, etc.

How will I earn my grade?


This is an EOC class….we call it “Elements.”
It counts for 25% of your course grade!
Tests & major projects = 35% each
 Quizzes = 20%
 Class work = 10%
 You will have a quiz after EVERY objective
and 4 unit tests; there are also about 8 major
projects throughout the year.
“How To’s:”
Turn in all printed work in the appropriate
bin at the front table. Label with your full
name, date, and period.
 Turn in digital work on our class Canvas
site (info to come); or Office 365. Label
with the name of the
objective/assignment!!

What is DECA???
DECA stands for “An Association of
Marketing Students” and is our student
club for any marketing student
 We go on competitions at the district,
state and national level, do service
projects, learn more about the field of
marketing, and have fun!!!!

How can I join DECA?
Pay the dues and come to the meetings!

What is Machado Money?
They are my version of extra credit. You
start off with 3 now.
 You must “pay” to use the RR
 You may earn them by bringing in
magazines, extra project supplies,
answering questions, etc.
 Redeem them on low quiz or project
grades…up to 100 per quarter!


present projects in front of the class!
