PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise (PARO) and the Business Centre invites ………………. to partner with us in hosting this
Enterprising Women Event on March 8th, 2016 at Clarion Resort Pinewood Park (201 Pinewood Park Dr, North
Bay, Ontario P1B 8Z4). This will be the first time hosting this unique event to recognize women living in Northeastern
Ontario.
The Enterprising Women Events is a celebration of accomplishments and a great learning opportunity! This extraordinary
one-day and evening event will be packed with an inspiring keynotes and workshops, motivating speed mentoring sessions, a
one of a kind tradeshow, engaging networking opportunities, and an awards gala honouring northern women who have
made positive contributions in their community.
The workshops and speed mentoring sessions, will provide tools and hints on how to ingnite profitability while growing their
businesses and inspiring change. During the speed mentoring session and workshops, our speakers and mentors will share
what they have learned from their experience in operating a business. This event is open to women, men, youth, as well as
local organizations.
We offer sponsorship opportunities to agencies, community organizations, and businesses in order to keep the event
accessible. We invite you to consider a Title, Keynote speaker, Speed mentoring or Nutritional Break Sponsorship, or to
participate as an Award sponsor.

important opportunity to raise funds for the grant portion of our Peerlending circles loans/grants. Those grants go for
women in Northeastern Ontario who need the most.

Appendix A – About PARO
PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise (PARO) is a women-centred economic development
organization launched in 1995. PARO remains focused on addressing the many unique challenges
facing women as entrepreneurs, as they seek employment, and as primary family caregivers. Since
the beginning, we have continued to diversify the range and reach of our programs and services to
meet the changing socio-economic environments of our communities and the growing economic
needs and aspirations of women in Northern Ontario. Today, PARO offers services to women,
people with disabilities, youth and social entrepreneurs.
At PARO Centre for Women's Enterprise, we seek to empower women and families within their
communities, strengthen small business and promote community economic development (CED)
through integrated and women-centered program delivery. From training and business coaching, to
building job search skills, networking events and peer lending circles, all of our innovative programs
and services are designed to increase the self-sufficiency and success of women, families and
communities in the North.

Appendix A – About The Business Centre
Our Mandate is to provide support to start-up and small enterprises during their first through fifth
years of operation in Nipissing and Parry Sound by offering easy access to business consulting
services and information concerning market research, business planning, management, marketing,
technology and financing.
The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound Inc. is a partnership between the City of North Bay, the
Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and
Forestry, and various community partners
The office assists in the start-up of new and the expansion of existing businesses. Services include:

One-on-one consultations

Review of business plans

Assistance with market research

Provision of relevant and timely business information

Mentoring and networking opportunities

Internet and computer access for business research & planning

Professional advisor referrals

Import and export information

Youth programming
