CHANGES. THE END DATES CANNOT BE CHANGED. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO KNOW THE
LEAGUE MONTH SHOOT SCHEDULE AND THE DAYS THAT LEAGUE SHOOTING IS UNAVAILABLE
DUE TO CLUB BEING CLOSED FOR PRIVATE EVENTS. *Club Closure Schedule is updated on
website and is available at the clubhouse in addition to being emailed to every league shooter each
month. The closure schedule changes so please check often.
Shooting Times:
League Rounds may be shot anytime Hunts Point Gun Club is open. Club hours are posted on website in
addition to being emailed to every league shooter each month. Shooting may also take place outside of normal
open hours by coordinating with John (218-232-7062) in advance.
Scoring:
Each league round must be identified as so to the staff in the clubhouse prior to beginning. Each target must be
marked with an X or 0, hit & loss on the scorecard. It will be up to the other shooters present to call it out and
verify hit or loss. A hit is a visible chip verified by one other shooter in your shooting group. Once the shooting
is concluded, you must count and record your total score and sign your scorecard (attesting that it is true and
accurate) before handing it in to the club staff. Each team must have at least 4 posted scores (from 4 separate
team members) each league round that will add up for a team total for that round. If your team has more than 4
shooters only the 4 highest scores (from 4 separate team members) will count for any given round. The others
(lower scores) will be thrown out for that round. If you miss a league round, you will be given a zero. If a team
does not post at least 4 scores (from 4 separate team members) for a league round the team will receive a zero.
Only league shooters and league teams completing all 10 rounds of league will qualify to win awards and prizes
at the conclusion of the league year.
Re-Score:
Shooters can shoot each league round as many times as you want and keep your best score, but it must be shot
during the scheduled league month. You should shoot each 100 targets scheduled for the month before
attempting a rescore on either one in case timing prevents you from coming back that month, remember – no
score posted for a round equals a zero for that round.

Individual Competition:
Each shooter that completes all 10 rounds of league will compete for the Overall High Gun Award, Overall High
Gun Handicap Award, Overall High Ladies Award, and Overall High Youth (age 17 and under) Award.
Team Competition, Classes, and Point System:
The league is 10 rounds of 50 targets, for a total of 500 targets. The first 2 rounds will be shot against all the
teams in the league to determine what class your team will be placed in. Your complete team average score will
be used for the purpose of placing teams. Once the teams are divided into classes, competition will begin and
points awarded beginning with Round 1 and so on. Each team you beat per league round, you receive 2 points,
1 point for a tie. The team with highest total points based on this method wins. If there are any ties, the teams
involved will go head to head, starting with round 1 through round 10. If the tie is not broken, then we will do
shooter against shooter, using the top 4 scores, awarding 1 point for each win for a possible 4 points per round.
Handicaps:
The handicap formula will be as follows:
Scratch is 44, and the maximum you can receive with handicap is 44.
Example: Score for round 1 is 40, round 2 is 38, average after 2 rounds is 39.
44 – 39 = 5 x .70% =3.5 Add 40 + 3.5 =43.5 for round one, round 2 = 38 + 3.5 = 41.5.
Handicap for round 3 is also 3.5. It will change as each consecutive round is scored using the running total
average.
Clay Mate Card Readers:
All stations have the Promatic Clay Readers. When purchasing a league round of sporting clays, we will give the
group shooting a card with the 50 targets for each shooter plus a “show bird” for each trap on the course and 3
additional (per shooter in the group) for any breakage during shooting for the first time in the month. After the
first time a month shooting the course you will not receive the showbirds unless you purchase those separately.
You will always receive the 3 extra for possible breakage. Do not shoot extra targets during a league round. Look
at show birds, shoot at all others and record the score of all birds shot at.
Gun/Shooter Malfunctions and “No Bird”:
Gun malfunctions will be limited to two per shooter per round of 50. After the 2nd malfunction the target
attempted will be marked a loss. A gun malfunction has to do with your Gun and Ammunition. A “No Bird” has to
do with trap machine or targets and will be called out as such. When a “No Bird” occurs for a report pair, shooters
must re-shoot the targets, making an attempt at both targets. However, only the “No Bird” portion of the pattern
will be scored. The fair target of the pattern has been established, whether a hit or loss and must be scored as
such. If it occurs for a pair the whole pattern must be re-thrown and re-scored.
League Banquet Information:
The End of the Season league banquet / fun shoot will be held on Sunday September 10, 2017.
Food tickets will be available in August for a small fee.
Shooting games will be at a greatly reduced price for all league members and your guests.
Award ceremony and prize drawings will take place after the dinner.
To qualify for awards and prizes you / each team must have shot all 10 rounds of league and have a team
representative present at the awards ceremony to accept for any team members not present.
