Why do we need IAMWS and its origins
- Based on the work of the Marine Warranty
Surveyor Advisory Panel to the London Market
Joint Rig Committee
- Moving forward as IAMWS
- Members of London Joint Rig Committee
encouraged MWS companies to pursue
accreditation of individual marine warranty
surveyors.
IAMWS
8
Why do we need IAMWS and its origins
• The existing Marine Warranty Surveyor
Advisory Panel agreed that our industry
needed a technical forum where we could
share ideas, lessons learned and improve
our industry.
IAMWS

What are the specifics to the IAMWS
and the way forward
• Certification will initially be focused towards MWS
for Offshore Marine Oil & Gas Operations.
- In general this relates to those operations generally
listed in the Joint Rig Committee code of practice and
generic work scope matrix. e.g. Jackets, Topsides,
subsea etc.
• Initially aimed at ensuring broad minimum
competency standard for attending surveyors who
issues the certificate of approval for these
operations.
- This is only part of the MWS picture – Technical
Review, Risk Assessment, vessel surveys, .
