Dear brothers and sisters in Christ and lovers of the Church of God in Louisiana,
Summer camping season at Camp Pollock will be upon us soon! It’s exciting to think about
how God is going to move in the hearts of young people from around the state. God only
knows whose lives will be transformed, whom He will set free from the bonds of sin and
addictions, and whom He will call to new ministries.
I know my life was not only enriched by my experiences at Camp Pollock, but I have been
undeniably shaped by what God did in my heart there. I owe a lot to those who cared
enough to pour their lives into the summer camping programs when I was a youth. With a
sense of gratitude, I feel that it’s important to give back to the very programs that gave so
much to me.
Like many others over the years, I’ve found it very rewarding to give back by volunteering
time to be a camp counselor and director. Believe me, this is awesome, and I probably
receive more of a blessing from it than the campers. I highly recommend it.
But, I know not everyone can commit the time to spend a week or more at Pollock this
summer. I’d like to suggest to you an easy way to contribute to the success of Camp Pollock
-- become a t-shirt sponsor.
Every year hundreds of students become the proud recipients of their very own customdesigned Camp Pollock t-shirt that will remind them for years to come of their experience
that summer. I know I’ve personally collected them for more years than I care to
mention…I have a quilt made from them, for goodness sake!
In the past, directors have had to make difficult decisions to make cuts to their programs so
they would have enough left in their budgets to cover the cost of t-shirts. More recently,
generous donors have contributed to a t-shirt sponsorship so those budgetary cuts didn’t
have to happen. Please consider being a t-shirt sponsor. Your gift will not only help to
ensure that all campers receive a t-shirt, but will consequently improve the quality of
programming that the directors will be able to provide to the campers.
The Christian Education Ministry Team would greatly appreciate any donation you can
make, no matter how great or small. It is not our goal to provide an advertisement for your
business, but we would like to recognize in print on the t-shirt itself the names of each
contributor of $100, $200, or $300. On the attached form you will find instructions for
entering your name as it will appear printed on the shirts. Your donations to this cause will
be gratefully accepted at any time, but only those sponsors whose completed forms are
received at the State Office by the deadline of May 13, 2013 will be guaranteed to have
their names printed on the shirts.
Your generous gift of $100 will put a t-shirt on the backs of
thirteen campers! … $200 will provide twenty-six shirts…
$300 will clothe a small army of thirty-nine!!
If you don’t feel that you can personally afford to give $100, I encourage you to get creative
and join forces with others. Give together as Sunday school classes, ministry teams,
outreach groups, etc. – together we can accomplish much!
As a small token of our appreciation for your gift, each sponsor who contributes at least
$100 will receive a t-shirt of his/her own.

provide students with their very own 2013 custom t-shirt which will display
this summer’s theme of 2 Cor. 5:17 “I am a new creation in Christ”.
