Monday: Painting Techniques
with
Sylvia Hewitt 10 - 12 noon $30 pp
This series of classes will give you an
introduction to working in a wide range of
techniques including: charcoal, Pallet knife.
Pastels, watercolour, graphite, artist books,
printmaking and glazing.
Sylvia is friendly and welcoming, and is a great
teacher who explains everything really well.
Materials are provided so that you can
experiment with new techniques and media
without the outlay for new materials.
Tuesday: Watercolour
Donna Maloney 10 - 12 noon
(intermediate); 1-3pm (beginners)$30 pp.

Materials provided
Donna will introduce you to working in watercolour, covering all the techniques to get the best
out of the medium and yourself. From washes,
resists, line work to wet on wet, and wet on dry ,
over six weeks you will master watercolour
techniques and learn the tricks to bring your work
to life. Small friendly classes
Tuesday: Pottery for Beginners
with Stella Thompson-Wheway
4 weeks 6.00pm to 8.00pm $100 pp
plus small charge for clay, firing
In this 4 week course, you will learn the
basics of pottery - pinch work, slab building,
coil work and more. You’ll work in airconditioned comfort under the guidance of
Stella who has decades of experience.
Small class means individual attention.
Booking essential.
Wednesday afternoon: Painting Date
1.30pm to 3.00 pm $8 pp
Not a class - an ‘art date’ with like minded souls!
Bring along your current art project, and enjoy a
few hours of working along other arty folks, in
our lovely air conditioned studio. Although this
isn’t a class, you still learn lots while working with
others, and inspire each other. Most importantly
by having a set time to work on your art, you will
get it done, without the distractions you have at
home. Cost includes tea and coffee facilities.
Wednesday night: Kick Start your Art
Sylvia Hewitt 5.45pm – 8pm $180pp
for 6 week course
with
This 6 week course is a hands-on introduction
into art. (NO experience needed) Explore many
different mediums such as Charcoal , Pastels,
Watercolours, Acrylics, Oils and Mediums etc.
This a fun and informative introduction to art in a
relaxed friendly studio atmosphere and will give
you the chance to try your hand at lots of
techniques.
(50% deposit required on the first class) with the
maximum of 8 people. Some materials included
& materials list will be supplied.
Thursday: Exploring Mixed Media
with
Cath Meharry 10 - 12 noon Cost: $30pp
materials provided.
This workshop is suited to all levels, but basic drawing
skills help. Mixed media is when you incorporate other
materials into your 2D artwork... Adding paper, textile,
fibres and more will bring your painting and your drawing
to life, adding texture, and interest. Each week Cath, one
of our resident artists will help you develop your own mixed
media style. Cath is a delightful teacher with decades of
experience, and is very talented artist too.
Sunday: Develop your Drawing
with Geraldine Hermann 10am - 12.00 pm
$25 pp Materials Supplied.
Drawing is the foundation to all good art practice.
Whether you struggle with a stick figure, or need to
brush up your skills, this class will build your skills
and confidence, and understanding of complex
concepts like line, tone, value, perspective, and
composition. You will learn how to use graphite,
charcoal, pastels and ink under the guidance of our
resident artist & art teacher Geraldine Hermann.

Sunday: Dynamic Art Journals
with Janet

No prior skills required.

Art Attacks 4 Kids
On Tuesday and Wednesdays after school, we
have fun art and craft sessions for kids.
Sessions go from 3.30 to 4.30 and cost $25 pp,
with all materials included. Experienced teachers
with blue cards
Tuesday is craft with Anat Azulay for the little
ones - let them come and have a ball creating,
while they learn new skills.
Wednesday’s class with Sue Tilley will explore
lots of different art mediums and techniques,
such as painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery and
more.
With pressure on the school’s to improve
academic results, many kids just don’t get the
chance to explore their creativity, and express
themselves. These classes are small and
friendly, and most importantly fun!
